DH and I care going to the SS office this morning to change my name! YAAAAAY! And then we're going to the DPS to get my new license and then off to have new passport photos taken and send off my change of name application for that! I'm going to try and make it to the bank today as well.
It's all very exciting and it will be nice to finally have this all done with and officially be Mrs. DH.
I feel way behind though... has EVERYONE else already taken care of this?

Re: It's an exciting day!
Good luck today!
I took care of this as soon as I could after we got back from the HM. I love being Mrs. Hislastname now!
I voted done, but I'm not quite done, I just typed a letter this mornin and made photocopies of SS card, DL and marriage license for my student loans, so I have to mail that.
The last thing is the banks, I had to wait for my new SS card to come and that came last night, so now I'm hoping to go Saturday morning to change my name for that. After that I should be done,
First of all, congrats!!!
I've changed ALMOST everything. New SS card, new DL, changed my names at both banks yesterday (and ordered a new debit card and checks), changed my credit cards, I even changed my name at CVS for my prescriptions. The only thing I'm waiting on is changing my name at work. My badge expires in August and I don't want to go through the pain in the ass process of doing it so soon now and then having to go get ANOTHER new badge in August.
Anything I'm forgetting???
I've done all of the important stuff except my passport. The $75 fee keeps making me put that step off.
Damn, I'm not done! I need to do my prescription AND my passport. Thanks for the reminder ladies!
Yeah, me too. I don't know if I plan on updating it anytime soon. I don't have any existing plans to leave the country for a while, so I'm thinking I can hold off for a little while.
I'm opposite of stu - I have not done anything except my name at work. Everything is changed in all the systems and my business cards have been changed. But I have to wait for everything else because I booked our airfare for the HM in my maiden name to avoid any confusion when we travel in July. As soon as we get back, I will be tackling it all, starting with SS and DL.
You've heard what I've done, not what I've been through.
If you were in my shoes, you'd fall the first step."
depends on the bank- mine told me not to come until i had SS card, DL and marriage certificate. my friends bank only cared about her marriage certificate, its worth a call to find out.
I did my official change-it-with-the-government name change the first business day after the wedding (I'm in Canada, so I don't know if it's the same in the US). I have gotten my new DL, passport, health card and bank accounts. I didn't think about my student loan either, so that still needs to be done, as well as my one credit card.
