Going Green!

Our solar panels are up and running!!!  Yay!!!

We are now just dealing with a meter (for our reference) being off, no biggie though.

It's a great feeling knowing our electric bills will be minimal!!!

  • Yes I wanted to click the FB link for this haha.  I've been thinking about this for my house but decided to wait until I need new shingles to replace and put up solar panels.

NYS has good incentives to do this.  Check http://www.nyserda.org/ for more information and an expiration date on those incentives/tax rebates.

Also,  instead of us replacing the back section of our roof with shingles &/or metal roof, we went with this http://www.hydro-stop.com/, a friend of ours (who is in construction) told us about this product.  It has a lifetime guarantee, I do believe.

  • Yeah I've worked with NYSERDA for a while now so they told me about the incentives.  It's really a great deal!  The incentives are good until next year but my shingles are only about 8 years old and they are 30 year shingles so I'm not ready to replace them just yet.
  • Awesome!  DH and I have made it a long term goal to install them too.  You'll have to keep us updated on how much you save on  your bills!
