Any knitters/crocheters?

I'm bookgirl810s on Ravelry if you wanna be friends. :)

I don't have a ton of stuff up there yet, but I should be finishing the baby blanket for my cousin's shower in the next day or two. There will be more pics up then. I'm going to try a beret next.

Re: Any knitters/crocheters?

  • My grandmother taught me to crochet when I was real little... but I don't really remember how!

I did tell DH though about 6 months ago that I would REALLY like to learn how to knit!  I think it would be fun!

  • I sort of do both but it's so hot right now I can't even think about picking up yarn!

  • My sister-in-law knits and it makes me kinda jealous to see all of the super-cute stuff she makes, but I have absolutely zero patience and I don't think I'd be able to do.  My mom crochets and makes the most adorable baby blankets.  My absolute favorite blanket is the one that my grandmother (RIP) crocheted for me when I went away to college.  I LOVE it!!!!

  • I crochet and LOVE it! I haven't done it in sooooo long... this makes me want to go out and get stuff for it hahaha
  • As klutzy as I am, I'd probably end up stabbing myself in the eye with a knitting needle.... I r smrt

  • I almost made a baby blanket for my newphew a few years ago with the Nifty Knitter...but it's still in my closet.  I WANT to learn how to crochet though.  Maybe after the big test on friday and finishing the TY notes this weekend.  Then I can try.

  • My Mom does, she's really good! She tried to teach me, but all I can do is a single chain. One time when I was little I made a chain that was as long as our house lol then I unraveled the whole thing! lol

  • My daughters love to crochet! I do not have this talent so I have nothing to add.  My daughter actually has people pay her to make her barret's lol she is so proud! I think she even started and etsy account I will have to ask if she ever posted anything. ...
  • Just do it! Haha. I crocheted for years, but my right wrist got so bad that I had to stop. So I am a former intermediate-to-advanced crocheter turned beginning knitter (the motion is kinder to my arms).

I recommend starting out with crochet. It's easier to keep track of what you're doing! Crochet is like building with Legos; knitting is... well, something else. More like weaving or something. When I crocheted, I only had to keep track of one loop at a time. With this baby blanket, I have 180 loops to keep track of and not drop... Indifferent

Working with yarn in this heat and humidity is no fun, but that baby shower is Sunday and I slacked this spring, so I have no choice.

This made me laugh out loud.  And it sounds much like something I'd do :)

  • I started teaching myself how to knit last winter.  Now that the wedding is over I hope to be able to do more.  I started a dog coat last winter, with any luck I'll have it finished  by this winter, LOL!

  • When I wasn't in school, I knitted. But it just don't have the time anymore.
