So, I have a question about cramping after your period. Now, I'm just asking if anyone else has experienced this. I do have an appt. to see my ob-gyn beginning of July for my annual pap. No doubt that I'm going to ask her what I'm feeling, I just wanted some thoughts and opinions! ![]()
I went for a run 2 days ago and I came home with a sharp pain in my left ovary. I really didn't think anything of it. The next day, my right ovary started to hurt. I had surgery 3 years ago(gallbladder removed) and was told I have 2 inguinal hernias near my ovaries. The surgeon said they are very tiny and do not need to be operated on.
Should I pass this pain off as possible early ovulation?
P.S. I have a pretty normal cycle, and am stressed out like no other right now. I'm finishing up summer clinic for the dental hygiene program. Can stress cause early ovulation?
Re: Cramping and/or possible cysts
The only thing I know about ovaries is that when I had an ovarian cyst a few years ago I was doubled over and vomiting from the pain. The urgent care place freaked and thought I had an ectopic pregnancy.
I would probably call even though you have an appointment in a few weeks.
Lurker butting in. What PP said. I had the exact same experience...twice. The first one I was vomiting for 2 days, the second time I had other *ahem* gastro issues for about 4 days. Both times I was checked for an ectopic pregnancy-neither time this was the case.
If you're unable to stand up, have a constant pain (not throbbing), or get sick to your stomach...or just if you're worried, I would go to an urgent care clinic.
HTH!
I have to agree with pp's. I had this same problem a few weeks ago.I'm stressed too I'm closing on my first house on 7/7 starting a new part time job, work with my father at his business, planing a wedding thats a little less then 9 months away. Oh and my future mother in law hates my guts all of a sudden lol. Any ways I to an urgent care that was close to my house and the tested me for ectopic pregnancy but it came back negative. So they checked my gallbladder (It needs to be removed but they said it could wait till after i close on the house). Finally they said it was just stress causing me to have early ovulation. Hope this helps but do mot try to diagnose your self just in case it is something more.
Good luck!!
Cysts are no jokes. If you have that severe pain, and notice any early or irregular bleeding, don't wait for the dr. go to the ER.
My mom's ovarian cyst ruptured when she was in her 20s, not good. She couldn't stand up straight once the pain started.
I currently have two cysts on my right ovary. They're not life threatening. I have irregular periods and pelvic pain because of them. And just now getting the nausea. All they can do for you is monitor them or remove them if they get too big or stay more than three or four months.
If I was you, I would just take tylenol and wait for my gyn appointment. Most people have cysts that go away and they never even know. If they burst, you WILL know it. And it will feel like you're about to die in pain. If that happens THEN I would go to the ER. I would also go to urgent care if the pain truly interrupts my daily activity.
I would definitly go to the doctor to get a check up. I spent 2 years in terrible pain, not knowing what was causing it. I was sent to gastro doctors who told me I was crazy. I almost passed out when buying my wedding dress, then later in the week randomly started throwing up. I went to a new gyno for a regular check-up since my gyno retired, an he found a large ovarian cyst. We watched it for 4 months with ultra sound. I was put on Pelvic rest. But it kept growing. I had surgey at the end of October (They wanted it for January, but I freeked because I was getting married the first week in March). They were able to remove it and I feel better then I have felt in easily two years. I also think I had a cyst prior to this that exploded while I was away. I have never experienced so much pain. Get it checked out, Its better then living in pain. The dr will keep an eye on it, and if they are concerned they will remove it. Good luck! Feel better!
