Actual post-wedding related question

Ok, so I haven't even started my wedding thank-yous (yeah, I know I'm a slacker).... so the question is, do I have to send them ALL out a once or can I do a few at a time and then mail them out bit by bit?  I'm thinking they probably need to go out all at once, but I'm really not looking forward to sending a million thank you cards.  Thoughts?

Re: Actual post-wedding related question

  • I'm with ya stu! I haven't started mine either! I've been waiting to get our pics back from the photog & I just got them over the weekend. I'm going to do mine in sets of 10/15 so I can get them knocked out pretty quick. I may try to tackle that many per night just as soon as the cards come in.

  • I mailed mine out as I finished them.

  • I separated mine out by groups - high school friends, college friends, family, dance friends, coworkers, etc....and then after I completed one "set", I'd mail it all out at once.

Helped to break it down into smaller, manageable tasks that way.

  • Don't worry about being a slacker!  I haven't done mine because we're waiting for our photos - hopefully by the beginning of July :)  I like the idea of doing them by groups...I'm totally stealing that idea!

  • I haven't even started mine. Mainly because we've been dealing with insurance companies and what not and any free time we get we just veg in front of the tv. That's my only excuse. I need to get on them.

I sent all of mine at once, but from what you said, I think this would be a good idea. That way you have more manageable amounts to work with, and people who might be talking about the thank-yous to each other would get them around the same time. I mean, you don't want your one aunt to say something to the other about the lovely thank-you card she got two weeks ago if Auntie #2 hasn't gotten hers yet.

  • It doesn't matter! Do whatever you want :)

  • You can do them all in batches, but they should all be mailed by the 2 month mark.

  • I had half of them done by the one month mark and then the other half done within two weeks of that. I just wanted them out of the way! We are going to do a wedding picture for our Christmas card this year, so we didn't have to wait for the thank yous.
