newlywed and having a dry spell
I've been married for about a month now and already am having issues in the bedroom. I've been on the bcp Loestrin 24 FE for about 4 months now and for about a week and a half have been experiencing dryness to the point where I can't even get it on with my new husband-even when I've been warmed up more than necessary-it's like a desert down there! Has anyone had this issue while on this pill? I'm a bit apprehensive when it comes to using something as a lubricant, but at the moment that seems to be the only resort. Is there any particular product you ladies can recommend for this problem?
Re: newlywed and having a dry spell
Why don't you want to use lube?
The pill often tends to "dry you up". One of the side effects.
Why do not you not want to use lube? It's wonderful, even if one does not have an issue with lubrication, as it is long lasting. You are not a failure as a woman if you use lubricant, you know. It seems to me using lubricant is a better option than just not being able to have sex.

SAIF always welcome!!

agree 100% just buy a bunch of different kinds of lube and make a night of trying them kind one you really like and go for it.
This. You can buy sample packs of lube to try, everything from waterbased or silicone and flavored!!
I completely understand where you're coming from! I get cysts very easily down there from certain products (some pads, any type of condoms, etc) so I was really weary of using any kind of lube. I've been using the Slumber Party brand Just Like Me for about a year now and it's wonderful! I haven't had any reaction to it, it lasts all night, and you can even use it in the shower : )
You have to find a Slumber Parties rep in your area to order it from, but it's totally worth it.. and they normally have it in their stock so you can get it right away!
Good luck with the lube, I hope it works out for you! DH was hesitant about using lube to at first (he felt like he was failing in turning me on), but once he got into it, we keep by the bed for every time we have sex.
Damn BCP! Ha.

Hello! You may have resolved this already but I thought I would throw in my 2 cents anywa. JIC.
I was on Loestrin before I switched to Ortho Tri Cyclen. I was very unhappy with it. Dryness- Yes. No sex drive- yes. I was also nervous and anxious all the time. I told my doctor this and she said those were symptoms of not enough estrogen. Obviously, all BCP cause some dryness and loss of sex drive. However, things are a little better. I would definitely suggest trying a new pill. A word of caution: I did try one between the Loestrin and Ortho...I cannot remember what it was but it made me break out like crazy (which I never do) because of the higher level of estrogen. Keep trying until you find one that works for you. HTH!
I was on Loestrin 24 and hated it. It didn't make me dry, but made me bleed heavily for 2 weeks straight (not my period). I literally had to stop taking it because it made me anemic.
anyways, about lube... KY is excellent. my husband and I don't dig the special "his and her" kind of stuff, but the regular KY is really good. Its the same consistency of your "natural lubrication". One thing I might recommend though: you might want to run the container under warm water before you use it... depending on where you store it, it could be chilly... kinda a mood killer.
if you're really anxious about lube though, talk to your doctor, and if you need to, they can make suggestions.
