I know I should probably ask this on the DIY board but...
It's looking like I'm going to make a few of these stands (http://www.designspongeonline.com/2008/05/diy-project-kates-recycled-cakestands.html) for a friends' wedding dessert display next weekend because they've come up a little short. If they end up not needing them, I still want to make a couple for me. ![]()
If I can't find good looking plates and/or vases, what kind of paint do you think would work well? I saw on another tutorial that they just used spray paint... but matte? glossy? I'm not sure.

Her colors are muted greens and purples with gold accents. I didn't even think of doing the stands gold. That could look nice! I was just thinking of matching them to her flowers (my mom's doing them so we'll have them all over her house on Tuesday) or doing white so they could be a decoration in my kitchen after (selfish, huh?).
