  • Just got here.  Read this first.  Will now go read the curtains post.
  • 1st day back at work.  Crying

Trying to get caught up but am locked out of systems and a bunch of my stuff is missing.  I'm pretty sure the contracter they hired to fill in for me moved it all to her desk.  I understand the convenience of some of the items moving to her desk but seriously, my Oreos? Confused

  • I'm here, but haven't posted yet on J09 so I guess that means I'm a lurky loo. Although I haven't opened your curtain posts yet!

  • SOMEONE TOOK YOUR OREOS? That's a punishable offense in any land.  How are you dealing being away from Amelia so far?

  • I'm here (and really am a lurky loo) Embarrassed  I actually was looking for curtains for you!
  • Mamie - by the way....has the flower (it was flower, wasn't it?) mirror arrived?  I think that was the last time I posted here!  I'm curious to know how it looks.

  • Darby, yes it arrived! But because the seller either botched up hanging something above the mantle, I have holes and white patches so the mirror would show right through, so I put it on another blank wall! It's a bit high, but I'm going to add something taller on top of the end table or maybe lower it. It's nice except as I was hanging it, the mirror part FELL RIGHT OUT onto my hardwoods but luckily didn't break!

Yup.  Half eaten pack of oreos.  But they left dirty silverware so we're even right? Ick!

I'm doing ok.  I did cry this morning when they dropped me off at the bus stop and she cried too.  I know it's probably incidental but it made me feel a little better.  And she smiles every time I call home (only twice to remind DH about her feedings).  I have a bunch of pics to help keep me going and the rest of the week is half days so I just need to make it through the day.

  • Oohh...it's really pretty!  I agree, it looks a bit high.  Glad the mirror didn't break!  Nobody needs that kind of bad luck!  Wink  I'm not sure I would want to put something tall on the table, it will end up competing with the lamp and look a bit busy.  I like what you have there now.

  • Awww, I want to smile/cry at the thought of both of you crying at saying goodbye! Hopefully the hours fly by for you.

darby, haha, so I should definitely lower it, huh? I'm terrified to touch it b/c the mirror is soooo unsturdy.

  • Maybe lowering it is a two person job, just to be safe.  Then if it comes out easily, just glue it back in.  I would probably use construction adhesive (a bit of overkill, but it will never move again) or the glue you can get from the craft store that says it binds different kinds of material (glass to wood or metal, etc.).
  • Who would steal Oreos?  That's lame!  Maybe they thought they were doing you a favor, as they would be stale before you returned???  Replacing them with a fresh package would have been a nice, though.
