Hi Ladies,
I need your help! We need some sort or blinds/window treatments for our living room. Here is what we currently have. I want blinds but when I went to Penny's website and put blinds in, I had no idea how many different types there were. It overwhelmed me. TIA for your help!

Re: Window treatment help
My favorite blinds are 2" white (faux) wood for economic reasons:
I also love bamboo blinds or plantation shutters, but I don't see bamboo working with that space because of the half paneled wall.

Ditto Mamie.
What other colors do you have in the room?
we have various shades of brown in the room, very neutral. I like those blinds mamie. The paneling is awful...but DH bought the house before me so we're stuck with it!
I'd be tempted to paint the paneling white to make it look like beadboard/wainscotting and paint the wall above a darker color to make the white pop. Do you follow YoungHouseLove? They did their den which was wood paneled:

Hmm. How wide is the window? I think it also depends on if you're someone who likes to switch up the level of light and dark. If so, I'd do two because it gives you more options, but if it will mostly be down or up, you could do one.

Thanks mamie! I wasn't sure about painting the paneling, but now...getting excited about the possibilities.
I think two blinds would be best. For flexibility and ease in opening.
I would paint the paneling, too. If you want something other than white, I think a pretty green (light sage/moss or something a little darker than the pillow on the chair would look good). Dark colors will make any imperfections in the paneling disappear. If you want a little drama, you could add dark sage/olive panels over the blinds. In the pic below (hopefully it will work - you could do the walls like they have and then the white blinds and curtain panels in the color of the bench. Wow--sorry for the run-on!

White wood blind. If the window is smaller than 48" I would do 1 blind.
