Eclipse on Opening Day??

I need your help Twilight fans. I was planning on catching the movie sometime during the long weekend in hopes that it won't be as full or noisy as opening day. But my friends want to go see it on Wednesday. I work so I would have to see a 7pm or later showing at Regal.

So my question is has anyone gone on opening day? How bad does it really get? How early before start time should I get there?

TIA

Re: Eclipse on Opening Day??

  • I've gone to the midnight showings every year and they were always insanely packed. The first year we got there about four hours early and were pretty far up in the line. We got good seats. Last year we were wiser and went to the double feature at the Falls, so we had our seats reserved. It was Twilight and New Moon, so we sat through Twilight in the time we would have been waiting and had our seats already. This year we are even better off because we are going to the premiere tomorrow and then I got tickets at the Cinebistro (which has reserved seating) on Thursday and Sat (with different groups of people, lol).

  • Wow you are a pro at this. I haven't even bought the tickets. I hope all the showings don't sell out. I am still debating if I should go on Wednesday or just wait. I just hate having to stand in such long lines only to try and get good seats. I am not one of the hardcore fans so I don't mind seeing it a week after if necessary in order to avoid crowds.

I don't know why I didn't think of Cinebistro. That might be what I end up doing.

  • GL getting Cinebistro tickets! We got ours the day the tickets became available because last year we tried to get them about 4 weeks in advance and every showing was sold out. Hopefully this year they'll have more showings!

  • My sisters and I are going on Wedneday to the 7pm showing. Last time we went to the Dolphin Mall and though it looked crazy it really wasn't so bad cause they have lots of showing times. But we did have to get there early. My sister is only 20 so we weren't able to go to Cinebistro but I would definitely go that route if you can. We already said when the Breaking Dawn movies come out we're going to watch them at Cinebistro!

  • Thanks for the heads up Eli. I need to make a decision quick then.

I did check on Fandango and it seems that I might still be OK for Monday tickets. I can't wait.
