The family and I went to Pensacola Beach yesterday to check out the damage caused by the oil. While it wasn't as bad as I was expecting, it was still depressing. The water looked clean, but the sand was gross. Pensacola used to boast having the whitest sand in the world, but not right now. We usually see lots of wildlife when we go, but yesterday we saw no fish or shells and hardly any birds.

I always wanted to visit Pensacola, so sad

thanks for posting the pics. It really sucks.
It is rare, but maybe about 3 or 4 times since the spill, we can smell oil here. That can't be good for the air quality. I haven't been to the La. coast since the spill but i have heard it is pretty awful. I just don't understand how they can't get a hold of this. Just sucks...the Gulf Coast really needs a break!
