July is when DH's company announces raises. We were concerned that due to the economy and the fact that his company laid off some of it's employees that are union that he would not be receiving a raise this year (since the union would raise h3ll for employees getting raises when they were firing others). He just texted me saying that he just got word that he's getting a 6% raise effective July 12th- a nice birthday present for him! Plus now all the overtime he puts in each week will reflect the new salary so it'll be more too.
Now we wait to find out if he got promoted or not...

TTC on hold until December
That's what we thought too! We really weren't expecting anything with this economy, let alone 6%. His supervisor said it was one of the highest raises that there was (woohoo DH)!
Too bad we won't see a cent of it though until DH retires since we decided to bump up his 401(k) contribution by that 6%. His company just has such a great benefits program and since we weren't expecting it, it's money we won't miss.
