Fun part about my night last night
So, cousins were in town. Two of H's cousins, S and P, P's wife H, plus an entourage.
Event: Celebrating P's birthday
Setting: Hudson Hotel outdoor bar
The ladies and I spot a bride. We're curious. Plus feeling a little devious. We dare birthday boy to go hit on the bride. His wife egging him on to get her number. He bites.
He walks over to the bride and starts chatting it up. I am immediately amazed that she's not irritated and has a lengthy conversation with him. 10 minutes or so. She's smiling, he's smiling. They're hugging. He walks back.
Apparently, she and her groom were having a destination wedding from Italy here in NY. Wedding was St. Patrick's. Dang. Reception was at some other fancy-pants hotel. After-party was there at the terrace bar at the Hudson. She was a very lovely bride.
He didn't get her number.
P.S. I tolerate places like that only a few times a year. Way not my crowd, overpriced drinks. Fun nonetheless.
