On Food Network a few nights ago I was watching and a show called "The Best Thing I Ever Ate" and I thoght it would be a fun poll to do every once in a while with a different catagory. It could be lame, but I thought I would give it a try.
What's the best dessert you ever ate?
Re: Food Poll- Dessert
That is way too broad for me. I have yet to meet a dessert I didn't like. Maybe narrow it down to pie, brownie, cake, fruit dessert, bar, etc. Sorry to be a PITA but that's my 2 cents and my weight reflects it :-D
That's fine. I know it will differ by person. Like it said, it might not be a good poll, but I would at least try. Sorry.
Oh no need to apologize! Sorry I made it more complicated. Just when I think dessert, I get brain overload. Hopefully no one else has such a severe dependency on dessert like me :-)
The best dessert for me is Chocolate Mascarpone from Pietro's. It's creamy chocolate perfection. One of these days I'm going to have to try making it at home.

I love dessert, but my favorite is the tirasmisu from Olive Garden.
Wanna laugh? I have never had red velvet cake before until I went to Golden Corral a few weeks ago
LOL
I love that show.
One of the best desserts I've had was at Joel Robuchon in Las Vegas. It was very unique--hot melty chocolate at the bottom, with a warm cream in the middle and topped with mint sorbet. It was delicious, but the different textures and temperatures really made it interesting.
Another really great dessert was the strawberry shortcake that I had at Commander's Palace in New Orleans. It was the most perfect incarnation of strawberry shortcake. So excellent.
Pie: Cherry Raspberry Pie
Cake: Molton Chocolate Cake
Ice Cream: Amaretto Cherry
Cookies: My grandma's chocolate chip cookies (which I just got the recipe for!)
Overall: Just about anything that includes chocolate. I had a major chocolate dream last night, I could taste and feel the chocolate. Amazing.
Love that show! And I think this thread is a great idea. Mmmm... food.
Believe it or not, the only thing that is jumping out at me for the best dessert that I ever ate is a wedding cake. About 7 years ago, DH and I went to a wedding in the Detroit area (east side!) and they had a freaking delicious wedding cake. I got the name of the baker and talked to them about doing our wedding cake when that time came, but there were significant transportation issues with getting a cake from Detroit to my wedding. It was an amazing cake though.
I haven't had a dessert I didn't like. But I think tops for me will always be my Mama's apple pie. I also love gelatto - any flavor.
I'm addicted to EDP's s'more. They use homemade marshmallow and brulee it at the table. Yum.
