Tuesday Randoms

Whassup girls? LOL

So what are everyone's plans for the holiday weekend? I plan on going up to JKMACNAMARA's Sat night until Sunday afternoon. Then going home that afternoon and spend the rest of day with hubby and watch the fireworks in Kentwood. I have to work on the 5th!

Re: Tuesday Randoms

  • Have fun Charity.

I have to take SS to doctors today for a medicine follow up/reveiw. The adderall has helped a lot and even SS can tell a difference.

Tonight I have a b-day party for my neice who is turning 10.

Rest of the week is party planning for our friend Bill's 4th of July Bash. Bill's single so I go and help him get ready, which is fun. He has such a great house and a GREAT view of the fireworks from the look out hill area. I'll spend most of Sunday there. I'm helping plan the menu in the next few days.

My NJ friends called to tell me she bought us tickets to see Jimmy Buffet when I'm there in August. I guess I get to be a Parrothead. ;)

  • I got very little sleep last night.  I just couldn't get comfortable and my brain was running through some silly things. I think I got about 3 hours of sleep and then I dozed in and out for about an hour.  This along with my low-grade sinus infection has me feeling like a helium balloon about to burst.

On the bright side today is my Friday!

    Lucky you :)

  • My office is closed Monday, but I DON'T get holiday pay.
  • I'm going to file this under "I should have known better":

I was looking for the Indy weather and came across the cities CBS affiliate, WISH TV 8.  Their site is exactly like GR's NBC affiliate WOOD TV 8. Including the unnecessary breaking news/headlines.

    Check it out: http://wishtv.com http://woodtv.com

    They are both LIN stations.

  • I find something very odd. When people get file for divorce here in Michigan or else where, it can take from 6 months to a year. But in the celebrity world, it takes less. They just said that Sandra Bullock's divorce is finalized from Jesse James. That didn't take long at all. Interesting to see what benefits the celebrities have.

WOOD's former News Director and Assistant News Director both took those same jobs at WISH within the past 2 years. Bigger market...

The laws vary by state.  In Michigan, there is a 6 month waiting period if you have kids.  Three months with no kids.

California (where I presume Sandra Bullock filed for divorce) probably has a different system and may have shorter waiting periods.

Yep.....remember "California Law"  It's a whole different system out there.

I never thought about it before. It's supposed to be based on the laws in the state where they were married. In Indiana, it's only a 60 cooling off period.

  • I just did a food stamp calculator and discovered that I could recieve over $400 in food stamps from the state. Question is, would you or have you had to use food stamps?

If I had them, I would use them. To get them, it has to be determined that you need them or whatever the state feels is appropriate for for qualification. I know that a lot of families and students depend on them. If you have a family and aren't working,  you need help with food. Now if you are somehow who has them and is wearing name brand clothes and driving a newer vehicle than mine, then we got issues and you don't deserve to have them. But the state of Michigan's system isn't fool proof. It gives everything to the people who are lazy and don't want to do anything, but won't give anything to the ones who truly need it, etc.
