As I have said a whole bunch of times already, I am applying for a new teaching job. A bunch of schools posted openings last week and I dropped by and handed in my resume. Now the posting are set to come down tomorrow. I want to send a resume follow up e-mail to make sure that mine didn't get lost in the pile of resumes. I have one written by I want to know how it sounds. I'm putting it on here, of course some of the info will be more specific when I send it to the principals. Remember, this is not my cover letter, just a follow up e-mail before interviews.
Dear Principal,
I recently submitted my cover letter and resume to yourschool for the classroom teacher position. I want to confirm that you have received my letter and resume. I am enclosing another copy of my resume.
As I stated in my cover letter, in 2008 I received my Master?s degree in Elementary Education from (college). I have been teaching for five years. In those five years I have taught kindergarten, first grade, and second grade. During the 2009-2010 school year my classroom was a multi-age classroom of first and second graders.
I would appreciate an opportunity to discuss the teaching position with you. I can be reached at (phone number).
I look forward to meeting with you.
Sincerely,
Mimi
