What are you scared of?

What makes your skin crawl when you see it? What paralyzes you when you think about it? Answer can be anything (death, animals, planes, etc).

Re: What are you scared of?

  • I am scared of creepy crawly bugs and spiders - they just gross me out, just thinking about them makes me feel like they are crawling all over me.  I can barely manage to kill them because I'm afraid I'll miss and they'll jump on me.

As for something that really terrifies me - cancer.  Its such a terrible, painful disease and watching my grandmother suffer and go from such a happy vibrant person to a frail, old woman who was ready to die in a matter of 6 months because of liver cancer was the worst thing I've ever had to deal with.

  • Snakes. Nuff said.
We have so much time, and so little to do! Strike that, reverse it.

  • Snakes and spiders. I suck up spiders with the vaccumm so they can't jump on me Hawki!

  • Thunder and lightning. A tree fell through my house when I was little so that probably sparked the fear. During a hike up Mt. Washington last weekend a storm blew in fast and we got caught on an exposed peak about a mile above the tree line (safety). We had to run for cover in some brush and I nearly had a nervous breakdown waiting out the storm. I still have nightmares.

Alzheimer's. I watched my grandmum suffer. I'm too terrified to even think about getting the genetic marker test...

  • My biggest ones are something happening to mess things up with DH and I and something bad (ala horrible accident or disease) to someone that I love.

For the day-to-day stuff, I dispise Junebugs.  Something about creatures that wear their skeletons on the outside wigs me out.

    I'm a weirdo in that I love T-storms and don't mind snakes.

  • Ditto on something bad happening to those I love. I'm terrified of this even more since Alex was born.

    Also, snakes.

  • Heights. I'm ok if I have the aisle seat on a plane, or if I close my eyes on roller coasters, but I can't go near windows on a tall building or out on a ledge somewhere

    Oh, the irony.

  • Snakes and moths.  And of course something bad happening to people I care about.

  • mice! They make me shudder.

On a more serious note, growing old alone.

  • bats. those are the worst. one of the most unpleasant things to wake up in the middle of the night to is one of those flying around above your head. I usually hide under the covers.

I also hate bugs in general (bees, spiders, creepy crawlies), mice, snakes, worms, toads. (I had MEAN older brothers as a little girl who would chase me with any insect or reptile they could find.) I was weeding my flowers a few weeks ago and a toad jumped out, I squealed and probably jumped 3 feet.

I'm also terrified of losing DH, not just physically, but also of having a failed marriage. I'm also scared that I'll be a terrible mommy, but it's learn as you go I guess!
