Silly T question

How often does the T generally run? I never, ever have to ride the T so I have no idea. I need to get to Dana Farber tomorrow for around noon and I am just trying to figure out when I should get to Newton to take the green line in.

Thanks a lot!

PS. I am from RI originally....does that count for my stupid quesiton :-)

Re: Silly T question

  • Nah, it's not stupid.  I haven't taken the T regularly in years, but generally speaking I would say there are maybe 15 minutes between trains.  Remember to give yourself enough travel time though.
I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

  • If you go to the MBTA website and click on the green line it will tell you how often they run throughout the day (it's different at different times of day and for each line). I used to take the green line every day (it was the B though) and in the middle of the day there were probably 8-10 min between trains.
  • During rush hour it is usually about 5 minutes. But during the day it's more like 10 minutes. That is unless they announce a delay. Definitely give yourself plenty of extra time. GL!

  • It's not stupid. It's too bad it's not more predictable though- some trains will run every 6 minutes, some you may have 15-20 minutes between. I'd give yourself 15-20 minutes between trains, esp coming out of Newton. GL!
