So finally they did a biopsy of MIL's breast on Monday and the results were breast cancer. A new mass (I'm told) was in her breast when they did it so it may not have been the one originally missed by her PCP.
This means (again just by what we were told) that there are more treatment and surgery options for her. So it's as good of news as we can expect other than her not having it at all. They'll be taking this new info to the 3 other oncologists and hopefully get a better success rate.
She was admitted yesterday for her breathing and had air drained from her chest cavity which was restricting her lung capacity. They temporarily inserted a one way valve and monitored it over night. Today there was no air and she was breathing and talking a whole lot better. Hopefully they don't have to do this many more times. But at least there's a way sure way to help her feel better.
Re: Breast Cancer!
I'm glad they finally know what kind of cancer it is... & like you said there are now more treatment and options for her. That really is good news. Isn't that weird? Of course, I'm keeping her, you, your family in my T&P's.
I'm really glad they figure out what kind it is. I hope they can fing some good treatment options soon. I'll keep her, you, DH and family in my T&P.
Keep us posted!

We all joked about this in the hospital too. Who would ever think that the good news is breast cancer right. But any answer is better than no answer.
Thanks again for all the t&p and vibes. Eric also wanted to thank you.
