I need your opinions pleaseeeee

I feel like I am going INSANE today with a CW.  I swear she doesn't pay attention or comprehend anything!!!!  Maybe it's me....can you please give me your honest opinion.

CW asked if an online system had been put in place for client.  I responded back with the online system had been set up for awhile and here are the clients signed up.  We are also mailing out second reminders to the people who haven't responded to remind them of the great feature.

She responds back with....that's fine but it is all done.

ME Indifferent Dear CW - in my original email I said it's been set up for awhile!
I had to take out some of the wording.....but SERIOUSLY!!!!!! I feel like I am dealing with an idiot!  My staff HATES dealing with her....I completely understand and I always feel I have to defend her b/c it's management. Trying to keep a positive vibe in the department.

Re: I need your opinions pleaseeeee

  • Wow.  Sounds like you need to really dumb it down for her.  I would try to answer her questions very direct.  "Is the online system set up?"  "Yes."  Keep it simple and only add on other details when she asks for it or when you need her to have it. I do that for some of my students.  Given they're 6 and 7 year olds....

I work with someone like her too.  She's Miss Only-One-Thing-At-A-Time. How frustrating, especially since you're her boss.

She isn't my employee....she is upper  management. That is the hardest part.  You are in charge of BILLION $ clients...and you can't understand what I am saying?

  • If she's an older employee....it's a problem they have with taking advice from younger employees. Its like they resent anything even if it's advice or critique...they won't listen to you no matter what. It's like they go into a zone, and blank you out!

I'm sorry...it's just the older generation. This is my day...all day, everyday. I kinda just tune it out sometimes.

Yikes!  Well, then that changes everything.  I agree with Krystal.  She's just being an ass.  I'm sure she understands what you're saying.  She just feels threatened and afraid of being one-upped by you
