I ordered postcards from Vistaprint to use as our birth announcements - I paid extra to have them shipped priority with a guaranteed arrival date of the 28th or before. It's now the 30th with no sign of them.
I want to ask Vistaprint for a refund of the shipping costs, since I paid extra for that and they still haven't arrived - priority shipping and handling was about $25, which I know isn't the end of the world but I think is ridiculous if the package is several days late, and it's really the principle of the thing (plus there's no tracking number so I don't have any idea where the package is at the moment).
Ben thinks I'm being a little bit silly, but he's pretty non-confrontational when it comes to customer service issues (I'm non-confrontational in general, but for this kind of thing I'll step up to the plate...probably because I'm a lot bolder over email than I am in person lol).
Thoughts?
Re: do you think it's reasonable to ask for a refund?
See, this is what I think! Ben just thinks it's a bit silly - he doesn't think I shouldn't ask, just that it's not a big deal. I do agree that it's not a big deal, but it's the principle of the thing, you know? You can't take someone's money and not follow through on what you promise them.
I totally agree! I would be mad, just for the principle of it.
I would definitely ask for a refund, especially if it can be done via email. If you had to call and be placed on hold for 20 minutes, get transferred to diffferent departments, etc... then it might not be worth the hassle.
I went through a similar case with Boden yesterday. I ordered a gift for my baby niece 2 weeks ago, and then it got clearanced to 50% off. I sent a quick email saying "Hi, I noticed this sale, can I get a price adjustment?" (not expecting to get one). Lo and behold, they credited my Boden account for the difference! Maybe it was nitpicky, but hey, $15 is $15. And for the amount of effort I had to put into it - writing one three-sentence email - I was very happy with the result!
agree!
Yes, of course... that's what guaranteed means, silly Ben... if they don't do what they say, they pay.
Vistaprint's customer service is good.

LOL thanks for being on my side, ladies! (Silly Ben...)
I emailed Vistaprint and asked for the refund, and they've credited the entire shipping cost (not just the difference between regular and priority shipping) back to my credit card.
Now we just have to wait for the announcements to get here... *sigh*

Do it. I was unhappy with the print quality of my return address labels from Vistaprint so I complained and they refunded me the entire amount! Then I just used them anyway.
