anyone doing anything fun for the 4th?
Re: 4th of July plans
I'm flying to Philly tomorrow to help move my grandmother to an assisted living facilty. She doesn't want to move, it's not going to be fun. I fly home on the 4th so I'll spend most the day in the airport. Then I'll have to try not to kill myself as I drive home around 9:30pm when there are likely to be fireworks going off that I'll want to watch while I drive!
MrBAMF is running the Peachtree - aiming for a sub 45min time (he can DO IT!) and then I was hoping we'd do Centennial Park this year. We never go anywhere to watch fireworks and I think it would be fun to do so at least 1x! We can walk to my work from there so its not like we'll need to find parking.

DH and I are going to his parents house Sunday and Monday they live on a lake so that should be awesome!
The rest of the weekend Friday to Saturday I am FREE to do whatever I want. I am so excited.
I had to do this about a year ago, so I understand. It's hard to remeber sometimes that you just have to do what's best for them no matter what their whiny "I don't want to be here" complaints are. You are def in my thoughts and prayers.
We are planning to hangout in our new hometown for the 4th.
Starting the day off with some pool time then DH will be in the 3lb hamburger eating contest. Then din din in downtown Delray (for me and friends atleast, I'm assuming DH might not be too hungry). Then fireworks over the ocean.
Thank you so much. It's been a rough few weeks as she refuses to throw anything out (even though the woman has never had a sentimental bone in her body and has always thrown everything out!). My poor mom has been in NJ since Memorial Day and it's really starting to wear on her. My grandmother cries numerous times a day and tells my mom that she prays every night that she won't wake up in the morning.
I think she'll really enjoy the place once she gets there but it's the getting there part that's hard. She spends so much time alone now and that won't be the case when she has common areas to go visit in. Plus, she loves bingo and they play 6 days a week! She'll be fine!!!!
