So, DH and a couple of friends and I are wanting to take a trip early next year. We like the idea of using an all inclusive resort like Hubs and I did for our honeymoon because it was just so freaking easy! Where have you all went that you would recommend. We are wanting to hit the beach SOMEWHERE warm and I'm trying to find something under $1000/ person for about 5 days. We went to Cancun and I would totally go back in a heartbeat but we also want to go to new places everytime we travel. let me know! TIA!

I think there are a bunch of other AIs in Mexico that are fairly cheap... I've never been to anywhere in Mexico other than Tijuana, so I'm absolutely no help. What about the Bahamas? I think that's fairly cheap as well. You could do a cruise for not a lot of money... it's not AI, but you get to see a lot of different places.

There are tons of AI in Mexico! I've been to Presidente Los Cabos, it was really nice, they have a lot of restaurants. It's about 200 a night.

DH and I stayed at RIU in Ocho Rios, Jamaica for a week one year ago. We love the all-inclusive thing, too! They were pretty reasonably priced.

Yes, it was for a donkey show... I'm totally kidding... When we lived out in California (when I was in 8th or 9th grade), we went and visited my aunt and uncle in San Diego. We all went to Tijuana to go shopping. They have super-cheap outlet stores there. And of course all the creepo guys were trying to lure my cousin and I into the bars.... not cool.

HH and I went to Puerta Vallarta on our HM and stayed at the Barcelo AI resort. We loved it! right by the mountains if you want to go zip-lining and its on the beach as well or has multiple pools (some are adult only as well which was nice). The restaurants at the resort were really good and there was always something to do. For 7 days/6nights AI we paid $1100 total for both of us. You can also book excursions for really cheap, which we did. We went snorkeling and zip lining and had a blast.

we went to sandals st. lucia and paid $3,500 for the two of us for 8 nights..if the prices are similar, that would be in your budget!

Cool thanks!!! I could probably get into Cuba on my Bolivian passport.....I speak fluent spanish so traveling to central/south america is not a problem for me and my friends are trusting me since I'm the "spaniard". Cuba might be a different story for them but I would love to go! I always loved Venezuela too but with Chavez being a horrible prick that may be hard for Americans too. I might look into the Bahamas and maybe other parts of Mexico and Costa Rica. I have a giant fear of ships, like you'd have to have me on Valium the entire week kinda fear. I also hate Trains and those giant Oil derricks. They send me into panic attacks. HAHA....I"m a hot mess. Thanks though, I'm going to look into these places for sure!

I went to Puerto Vallarta with HH in December 2008 and we had the BEEEEEESSSSSSSTTTTTTT time! We stayed in RIU Vallarta and it was very reasonably priced!!!!!!

I've also been to Nassau in the Bahamas which I highly recommend also. The resort we stayed at has been completely redone, but there's plenty of great places to stay, lots to do, and the people are fabulous!

The Dominican Republic! We almost went to the dominican republic for our honeymoon but at the last minute DH surprised me with sandals in st lucia. The DR looked beautiful- we were going to stay at the Excellence Punta Cana. Decently priced too

Americans can also get into Cuba from Jamaica - when we were in Jamaica they were offering "side trips" to Cuba - they just won't stamp your passport ;-)
