I can't remember everyone but was just wondering.... I need to be adopted by some edmonton nesties.  I'm going to need some friends.

  • I'm in Edmonton! Are you moving here from Ontario?
  • It was decided yesterday, yes we are.  I'm nervous sad and excited all at the same time.

Wow, that's a big change and no doubt your feelings are totally normal. My parents actually moved out west from Ontario after they got married, without any of their family or friends. As a kid, having all my relatives in Ontario made for some fun (and long) road trips. ?I have a lot of great memories of Ontario, and just last summer took DH and DS to visit my family there (in a couple different locations throughout).?

Hopefully you'll like it here! Edmonton (and Alberta) has a lot of great characteristics. Feel free to PM me if you want any tips or advice or anything! (ps. my name is Becky).?

another change of plans.... I think we're just going to buy, probably a cheap mobile home to start.  we will have to pay a ridiculous penalty if we sell this house but don't get another mortgage.  I think if we just get a cheap place that will be better.  I already know that some mobile homes have a hard time selling, and obvioulsy some areas are better then others so we are just trying to put some feelers out.  again, any tips on this stuff is GREATLY appreciated.

  • Hey, I know someone that is desperately trying to sell their mobile home (or at least they were last I heard from her). ?It's in the very west end of edmonton (I live in the west too). I've only been to their place once but both the home and the community seemed quite nice. Want me to get more info?
  • I am in Edmonton. I am sure you will love it here. There is tonnes of stuff to do, especially in the summer with all the festivals. Edmonton is very arts and culture based. We actually live in Leduc (which is about 10 minutes from the south side of edmonton). Its alot cheaper than the city.

    Good luck with everything!

  • Me...me...me...I am from Edmonton, of course..LOL...I am in Leduc, which is like stated considerably cheaper then the city.  It is only a 10 minute drive from the south side of the city.  But there is also a few (Trish & Betty) West End ladies that are awesome.
