Your state's fattiest food
We've been discussing this article over on the Seattle board.
We think that the choice for Washington state is stupid. Do you think your state is "represented well"?

Re: Your state's fattiest food
Ohio is Bob Evan's sausage biscuit bowl. Ummm, I dont think that represents us well at all. However, I had no idea the headquarters are here.
In my area, it's all about the chili- and I just checked. A large 3-way has 64 grams of fat. It only goes up from there. They dont list the sat. fat, but I can only imagine that it isnt pretty!
What do you think is your states fattiest food Carrie?

I LOLed at the thought of Louisiana's fattiest food. I mean we fry vegitbles for god's sake.
I think the beignet is good representation of Louisiana, but I'm sure that it's not our fattiest food..I could see why they picked it b/c other things that are well know as Louisiana foods like gumbo, jambalaya and boiled seafoods aren't very high in fat.
I'm kinda p!ssed that they gave South Carolina the Turducken since it was invented in Morgan City, La...about 40 minutes from me... I know..we should be so proud of that one. lol
Missouri: Hardee's 2/3 Lb. Monster Thickburger
I don't even know anyone who has had one of these. I think they only chose it b/c the Hardees's headquarters are here ( I had no idea). It just looks gross!
Not so much for NJ. I have heard of the infamous Rutgers U. grease trucks. DH went to Rutgers and talks about the "fat" sandwiches all the time. Besides the "Fat Darrell" that was listed as NJ's fattiest food, there are other sandwiches with different names (i.e. the Fat Coco, the Fat B!tch..lol). But no, I don't think that it really represents NJ, because those sandwiches are only available on the Rutgers campus.
But here in South Jersey, we are more affiliated with Philly anyway, and I definitely think they definitely made the right choice for PA...the Philly cheesesteak. One of my all-time faves! And I think most people from PA/South Jersey would agree with that pick : )
Definitely! I always get skim when I go get a drink from there. I think they use vitamin D otherwise? (yuck!)

bacon wrapped meatloaf. i've never even heard of that!
p.s. representin my employer! i'm on the paper magazine side, not the web, so i had no part in choosing the foods in this story!
I don't agree at all - I have never heard of the Luther Burger (it says it's a greasy hamburger with a fried egg, and instead of a bun, they use krispy kreme donuts - nasty!!!)
In GA, I would think fried chicken, pies, etc would be among the fattiest foods, even though we rarely eat that stuff in GA anyway, it's just a stereotype.
Arkansas - fried catfish - Sounds yummy!
Yeah, I would agree with that, but I'm with Tiff - here we fry everything from chicken to pies to potatoes! Ok, I'll also admit that green beans wrapped in bacon are a favorite at family get-togethers too. lol
