I am getting my Brazilian Blowout tomorrow! Squeee!
I'm so excited, all. I've wanted to try one for a long time but the price kept me from doing it (average around here is $250-300...wouldn't be bad if it was permanent, but it only lasts 3-4 months). Well I am still having some self esteem "issues" with my postbaby bod, so DH was ok with me making an appt to spend the $$ for the blowout as it might help me feel a little better. I have a friend who is on her 3rd one, and loves it....I made an appt at a local salon/spa but then found out that the place I normally go to just started doing it and for a LOT cheaper than anywhere else around here (same product and everything) so I made an appt at my regular place. I'm really geeked. My hair is really naturally frizzy and has a really erratic curl pattern (I have like 3 different curl types in my hair) and it's usually flat on top....doesn't start curling for about 2 inches from the roots. I flat iron it if I'm going out, and use a ton of oil/product, and even then it doesn't shine and still feels pretty coarse, even though my hair is in super good condition, that is just the natural texture. The BBO should help pull the curls out, add a ton of shine and softness, and I should be able to straighten it just using a blowdryer and my fingers. I can't even IMAGINE having manageable hair!

My girl does it!!! I got my hair cut yesterday. She said they charge about $150 for the length my hair is right now, which is short and the cost goes up from there. She said she has done 5 so far and she just got certified a month or so ago. I guess they are super popular. She said the results are amazing, she said you can let your hair air dry and it will dry like you blew it out straight and flat ironed it. She is super excited that she is doing it on ethnic hair next week. She said it lasts 12 weeeks on average, but sometimes more depending on your hair.
I asked her if I could do it and she said def, especially because of my natural wave, she said I'd be in love. LOL
I cannot wait to see your hair and hear how it goes!!!!
I will post some before and after pics!
At the place I go to, it starts at $99 and goes NO higher than $200. My hair is above my shoulders, so I will pay the lower end of that...which is $100 cheaper than the first place I had it booked at (and it was ON SALE at the first place, too). The shampoo and conditioner they recommend are pricey, but with the $100 I am saving, I ordered them last night online.
I hear it's customizable too, so they can use a big more product and higher heat and get it straight, or they can use less product and lower heat and just get rid of the frizz and you can keep the wave/curl. Personally I hate my curly hair, so they can get rid of it if they can!
Dream, it's a keratin conditioning treatment for the hair, performed in a salon. The stuff is put on your hair, which is then blown dry straight and flat ironed, then it's rinsed out. Results are perfectly frizz free hair, and curly hair can be straightened by it semipermanently. Blowdry time is reduced, no flat iron needed and super shiny. Lasts 3-4 months on average.

I did too until I remembered my sister asking me about it the other day. In fact when she first asked me about it, I thought that was what she was talking about, too.
I thought the SAME thing!
I am so glad I am not the only one....I was thinking how much more blown out could a brazillian be...it seems pretty blown out already...LMFAO
LMAO! Me too! I thought, well, I'm just not even going to comment because I have no idea what to say about that! LOL
Add me to the confused list too.
Bwahahahahaha
The first time I heard the term, I thought,"I know what a brazilian is, and I know what a blowout is, but a brazilian blowout cannot be what it sounds like it should be..."
ETA: When I first told P I wanted a Brazilian Blowout, he laughed and asked me if it was anything like a "Cleveland Steamer". Gross!
Hahaha, I was thinking the SAME THING! I was like, wow, thanks for the indepth description!].
