Hello! I'm a knottie getting married in January. I am virgin and my FH and I don't want to have kids for the first years of marriage, I have a very irregular cycle and would want to know from your experience which method or pill is the best in this case.
Thanks!
Re: Contraceptive method
I must agree. Your doc will have the best info for you and your body type. I do suggest that you get on something before the wedding so it has time to take effect before the honeymoon.
On a personal note-stay away from the Depo shot! I bled/spotted for the first 6 months and gained a TON of weight!
Just as a heads up from personal experience.
Monthly injections: it's effect only lasted 15 days & it totally alters your vagina's natural PH level, this caused me the worse yeast infection I've had.
Pills, particularly Yaz, daily pill that also helps acne problems & it also helps maintain my weight (disgracefully for me , 'cuz I'm skinny), BUT libido levels drop almost to ZILCH!
I gues that you've already adopted the method your doctor recommended.
Good luck!
Like everyone said talk to your doc.
From personal experience I was and am in the same situation and I have the implanon. It is amazing and works for 3 years. I would recommend you at least check it out.
You need to get educated about all your birth control options. Planned Parenthood has simple to understand information on their website.
http://www.plannedparenthood.org/health-topics/birth-control-4211.htm
and here is the effectiveness chart
http://www.plannedparenthood.org/health-topics/birth-control/birth-control-effectiveness-chart-22710.htm
Both you and your FI need to read this info together. He needs to understand all of your options and that birth control is also his responsibility.
Ditto. For me I tried, depo, every pill out there it seems over 10 year span and IUD. Had complications for me. In the end DH went and got a vasectomy. So far so good
In my personal experience... Implanon=LOVE!
You should at least check it out. Everyone is different but for me, it is perfect!
