Does your pet remind you of another animal?

While we were driving down to San Diego, we passed a truck full of pigs. I saw one of the pigs stick his nose out of one the openings in the trailer and the first thing that came to mind was our youngest pup, Walle. He used to stick his pink nose (a lot of huskies have pink "snow noses" and he has it but our other husky doesn't) out of the opening in the fence and that's what he looked like! Also, MH always commented that our older, girl pup runs so gracefully like a sled dog, but not only is he fatter (like a pig), he also runs like one with his nose pointed into the ground.

Does your pet remind you of any other animal too or are we just weird to think that of our pup? =P

Re: Does your pet remind you of another animal?

  • My 7lb Maltese reminds me of an 80lb Big Dog.  He stands tall and proud - short dog syndrome.  Maybe he kind of reminds me of a pig becuase if there is any exposed dirt, especially if it is wet like mud, he will wallow in it.
  • Reptar, my malti-poo, sometimes reminds me of a deer.  If he's running in a field or somewhere were the grass is high, he'll kind of prance over it with paws up high.  It reminds me of the way a deer looks when it's running fast.  However, Reptar is not graceful in any other way.
  • My cat Lynx reminds me of a dog because she sounds like one.  She has never meowed but makes this barking/yelping noise when she's irritated, and growls when she hears people outside the house.
  • I call Indiana "Pig Dog" sometimes. Not because he looks like one, but because he's very vocal and sometimes will do these grunty-snorty noises that sound like a pig. Stick out tongue
  • We call Bea our little seal all the time!  Something about the way she'll wiggle around on the floor and couch without using her legs at all...

And dogs are actually genetic relatives of seals so no wonder!

Wow, I didn't know dogs can do this! Ours doesn't at all! Didn't know they were related to seals either!

  • Does it count if my dog reminds me of a human being?  She definitely thinks she's human and isn't a fan of being reminded that she is a dog.
  • Oh, does it count if our other dog Korben reminds me of a dingo? I know dingos are basically dogs (although my crazy ex insisted they were actually descended from weasels and not related to dogs at all...riiiiiiight Hmm), but they're technically different.

Although I guess that's like saying that a husky reminds you of a wolf. Hmm. Nevermind. Stick out tongue
