where to see fireworks shows

i want to take H&H to see a big show this year, and i see the schedules of where they're generally at, but i don't know WHERE to go, you know?  like if we wanted to see the maumee-perrysburg bridge fireworks, where is a good place to park/sit?

are you planning to see a big show anywhere?

Re: where to see fireworks shows

  • We usually go to the Maumee-Perrysburg bridge ones and park at Golden Gate Plaza on the Trail and Conant.

We've been to the BG ones a few times, too - they're great.  We just park in the football parking lots.

  • We may go to the downtown fireworks.  DH has to work the Sylvania fireworks tomorrow night.  For the Maumee/Perrysburg ones, years ago, we used to take a bunch of chairs and just find a place near Conant to park our vehicles and just hang out roadside and watch them.

  • My IL's go to the Maumee ones every year, and I think they generally get down there pretty early because it gets really crazy!  They park in downtown Maumee, and I think there's like a picnic/festival of some sort that you can do.  Then they hoof it over to (*I think*) the Ft. Meigs area where they set up a blanket and sit on the hill.  It gets pretty crowded in that area, but I guess it's basically the best viewing spot.  They go early and bring like a radio and card games or something I think to pass the time.

The Toledo ones are actually on the 4th, and are right after a Hen's game, so you sure as heck won't catch me trying to battle the traffic/crowds that will bring!  lol! :)
