Snack food ideas?

I was asked to bring something to snack on when we go to my aunt's lake house tomorrow. I've been busy with work this morning and haven't had time to think or look at anything. Any ideas? Probably something that doesn't need to be hot. Maybe a mexican dip...hmmm

Re: Snack food ideas?

  • 7-layer dip is usually my go-to.  Fruit salad, too.
  • Just saw this on a blog I follow and it sounds good:

          • Cherry Tomatoes
          • Cheese tortellini (I buy frozen)
          • Whole black olives, drained
          • Italian dressing
          • Party picks or skewers

Cook the tortellini as directed and drain.  Then thread one olive, one tortellini and one tomato on pick/skewer, repeating if necessary.  Refrigerate the platter when complete.  Before serving drizzle the platter with Italian dressing.

(I've also rolled up pepperoni or prosciutto and threaded it between the other parts, but not this time.)

My sisters makes a yummy dip that you put with fritos...

    1/2 can corn
1 small can black olives - sliced
    1 green chile

mix together & serve with fritos...it sounds gross but it's really good.
