F/U to my fridge question
It died. Like dead. As in the fridge part (only the fridge part, not the freezer) is not working at all.
Warranty? Not applicable because we are technically the "second" owners since it was in the house when we bought it (even though it is less than 3 years old).
Cost to fix? According to the fridge man, we're looking at anywhere from $700 to $1400. Pretty wide range. Plus, the earliest it can be worked on? Two weeks.
Decision? I'm fridge shopping.
Re: F/U to my fridge question
That sucks!
We ran into a similar problem since the builder bought all of our appliances. After many phone calls by DH, they came out and looked at the stove without us paying anything. It sucks.
I would go with a new fridge, the cost of repairs is close to the cost of a new one anyways.
That is what I am hoping for...I'm also hoping I can get quick delivery since we have no fridge right now! I'm glad I hadn't gone grocery shopping this week (yay for not cooking because of VBS) because we would have lost a LOT more food if I had.
I have one of these and I love it. It has the door compartment for milk that is colder than the rest of the fridge and the other door has 6 holes for bottles or cans to keep them really cold as well.
We have a french door fridge in our kitchen and I like it a lot.
I wanted one of those fridges too and I don't know why we didn't go with it. Probably it was too high of a cost with the new house and such. I already told DH, when appliances start going (not for a long time since they were all new) I'm not going cheap, especially with the washer and dryer.
I HATE how small the side by side freezer is. I always have stuff falling on my feet when I try to get something out.
I HATE how you can't fit most things in it. I can't get a frozen pizza in mine no matter how I adjust it. Thank goodness we have a chest freezer or I'd be out of luck with a lot of stuff.
I am 100% sold on the french door with bottom freezer now.
SOOOO...any brand recommendations?
It looks like one of our Lowes has Whirlpool and Samsung in stock. 20% off Whirlpool, 10% off Samsung, plus we do get the 10% military discount. I need to call the other Lowes to see what they have in stock too. Our current fridge is a Samsung so I'm not 100% sure I want to get another one of that brand (although if I have the warranty this time and something happens I know they will fix it...)
Mine is this one:

Had it for 3 years and no problems (knock on wood)
Edit: Apparently I have no idea how to make something a hyperlink
