Things for a 6 year old to do in Austin?
Hey all-
I have a friend of mine, with her 6 yr old daughter visiting us. Since both DH and I are without children, we have no clue what we could do to entertain them while they stay.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

How about Amy's ice cream on Burnet? They've got ice cream, beer, burgers, and a big playground . . .I see a bizzillion kids there all the time, while the parents hang around and drink beer and eat ice cream . . .
Does the daughter like to swim? How about Barton Springs, or Deep Eddy?
And Peter Pan mini golf! Its BYOB, and kids love it too.
a few people had mentioned freddy's to me when my nephew came to visit but we didn't end up going:

we spent quite a bit of time in zilker, my nephew also liked the train ride. but maybe that's a boy thing.
Mostly all of this rain is a problem!
We were not expecting so many thunderstorms.
