Re: *4th of July Weekend Plans?*

  • Yahooooo It's the weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a LIST of stuff I have to do to get ready for my friends visit.  I am off on Monday too. :)

My DH proudly flies the flag every day. :)

  • Tonight - Girls night, drinks, dinner & ECLIPSE!!! I'm such a groupie that my aunt got me a Team Edward shirt. LOL

Sat - Visit my grandma (dad's mom) at the hospital, she's has congested heart failure and the family is meeting to discuss her quality of life. I'm hoping to avoid seeing my dad and his new wife, but I will avoid them at all costs if I do. Later on that night, Eric & I are taking my mom out for her 50th birthday. My mama turns 50 tomorrow! Maybe my sisters will eventually come over and we'll celebrate together - but who knows - two of the three sisters are working.

Sun - Tailgating at our house with Eric's family. There's a good group of us going to the Angels game. Then we'll all head off and watch some good ole baseball and fireworks!

Mon - Relax, garden and hang out at one of my fave gastropubs in the OC. They are launching a new HH menu that I'm so excited to taste!!!

    Come on weekend!

  • Tonight- home and maybe sip on a few beers with Jordan and the pooches on the front porch.

Tomorrow- early morning grooming appoinments for the dogs, antique flea market with my mom, wash my car, return some super short shorts I ordered from Express that I would never leave my bedroom in much less the house! Hope to fit in a mani pedi, then the Rockies game with Jordan.  Fireworks are after the game.

Sunday- Go watch our town 4th of July parade, then my aunt is have a crawfish boil, then not sure what we are doing for the evening.  I kind of want to have friends over to watch fireworks.  Our neighbor said we can see a few shows from our back yard.

Monday- I want to go check out our pool.  We still haven't done that this year, maybe go hit a few balls at the driving range, and relax for the up coming week.

  • YAY weekend!!

Tonight we've got a game around 6, then not really sure. We'll get dinner somewhere and probably just hanging out with the parents/kids at the hotel.

Tomorrow morning we've got a game, then I think one of the families that lives near here is throwing the team a BBQ but who knows. If the game goes well, we'll be here Sat. night too and if it goes bad we'll leave after our (maybe) BBQ and head to our friends house and hang out there until Monday morning.

Sunday - either baseball or hanging with our friends. Fireworks somewhere I guess. Other than that I have no clue!

Monday - we'll be heading to Atlanta! I'm excited...but not for the 8 hour drive haha. And depending on when we get there we'll be going to see Twilight!!! I'm excited! Steve's promised to take me while we're in ATL and we're hoping for Monday, but it'll all depend

  • Tonight- not much. Maybe go to my bros, since his MIL and BIL are in town (we talk and hang too), and they leave Sunday. Perhaps supervise my 12 year old son with his fireworks (that would be DH, lol) Tomorrow- work for a few hrs, then clean. DH's fam is coming the first week of august, and I don't want to furiously clean the night before. At night, we're going to my friend's for her bday for a crab boil. Sunday- bright and early for my first 5k race! It's been raining a ton here, but I haven't heard them call it off yet, so I'll assume it's on. After that, probably take a nap! And I heard of a festival downtown that's free entry with canned good, so maybe we'll go check it out. Monday- sleep!! Relax, enjoy the day! And probably clean more
  • I have been traveling so much that I am doing NADDA all weekend. Hooray!

And yep, we always have our big ol flag out too. ::hums Lee Greenwood::

  • No big plans, but sunday my family may try to go to cheniere au tigre by boat. Cheniere au tigre is one of the barrior islands for vermilion parish, where my family lives. We want to see the booms and work being done to stop the oil and see the damage first hand. We dont know yet if we can go or not. Cheniere au tigre is translated to tiger island. Here is a history on it, it is quite interesting how it received its name. http://www.carencrohighschool.org/LA_Studies/ParishSeries/VermilionParish/Cheniere.htm . Sorry to be a downer, this oil spew mess doesnt give us much reason to party and celebrate down here. It is just a mess and nightmare. Keep hearing about people losing their jobs everyday, livelihoods (cant go fishing anywhere), and it is just not cool. Most of my family have oil field related jobs and those are in jeopardy for the immediate future. And if this damn moratorium ends up passing, those rigs are leaving the gulf and they wont come back. I dont think people understand that.
