RP: Does anyone have AT&T U-Verse?

We had an AT&T account rep in our neighborhood last night, and we're seriously considering switching. We'd just use it for cable & internet since we don't have a house phone anymore.

We have TWC currently, and while it's annoying sometimes, all in all, we're happy with their service. But we've had a bit of trouble with our DVR lately (blamed on a software update), and in the event that we ever have to call TWC customer service, it's terrible.

AT&T will pay most of the cancellation fee we'd have with TWC, since we're in a contract. It's about the same price, per month.

We're tempted, but hoped to hear others' opinions first..

TIA!

Re: RP: Does anyone have AT&T U-Verse?

  • It isn't available on our side of the neighborhood, but we would switch if we could.  This is mainly because the Yes Network (Yankee's) is only available through U-Verse.  But the neighbors we know who have it, LOVE it!  Actually the other night one of our neighbors was saying how much they loved it and were trying to get us to switch, until they found out we can't get it!
  • It's not available where we live, but my ILs have it back in OH & love it.

  • We have it and love it!  We used to have issues with TWC where our HD channels would lag, but it's only happened once with U-Verse.  And we get faster internet for the same price (12bps vs 7bps).

I know Alethea is a huge U-Verse advocate so hopefully she'll chime in :)

  • we can't get it...for some reason the u-verse lines stop at our neighborhood.  We have been told Wake Forest won't allow them in the neighborhood.  we would get it if we could though.  we currently don't have cable - while I am okay without it, and i am still alive, it would be nice to have cable again!  But 125/mth to watch TV was just too much!
  • I chimed in on the NC baby board.  :-)
