Favorite Place to buy cheap and cute clothes
Hey ladies just a quick question/favor/poll:
Where is your favorite place to find cute inexpensive work-ish clothing? (preferably with an online store and good shipping/return policies)
I work in a fairly casual place, where I would stick out if I wore suits, or business attire everyday (I'd probably have my boss terrified that I'd gone to an interview or something lol)
Typically I can find things at Target, but lately they've upped the prices on some of the nicer "work appropriate" stuff and they NEVER have sales.
fair warning: I don't do Kohls. I can never find anything there that fits me/that I
like.

I might be too square for you... Lots of Lands End. Marshalls/TJ Maxx/Filene's Basement. I loooove SteinMart, but there aren't any near where I live.
(
Pants, I go to Express for the Editor pants.

oh i LOOOOOVE tjmaxx, but they don't have an online store, so i can never shop there since i work basically all of their business hours.
and i've never been to a SteinMart, which makes me EXTRA jealous!

@missy lately ON has been really bad for work clothing- it's killing me because that's my go-to place for cardigans and sweaters. rarr.
and macy's is poop. overpriced super-cheap quality i could get someplace else for 15% of the price (keep in mind, i'm a petite. so everything at Macy's is for a granny). and i tend not to buy brands unless it's a dress. that always lets me down unless i'm looking for a cute dress.

SteinMart is wicked awesome! I only went the one time in Hoosierville avec ma maman, and I literally wanted to buy everything!

ms nobody: yeah, I totally agree with you about Macy's - they are way overpriced. I usually buy in the juniors dept but only if it is on sale. I never buy anything full priced there. As far as ON goes, I haven't been in there in a while, but like you, need to get out and do some shopping for myself that isn't wedding related. I know you said you didn't do Kohl's, but I love that store, used to work there in college, and find most my my clothes there. I do think they have gone a bit downhill in recent years, but I can usually find what I need. I don't do the really trendy juniors/fashion/Britney Spears/Avrile Lavigne stuff, though.
Have you tried places like JJill? Years ago my mom used to order from a catalog called Chadwicks (of Boston?) - from what I remember they had a really good return policy, but I know that was quite a while ago.
I hope you have some luck finding a new wardrobe, girl!
This made me think of one of the twins. She has a pair of black pants that she wears to nice things. She calls them her "business pants". LMAO
Okay, that's it. I haven't actually been shopping for anything not wedding related in over a year so I have nothing to contribute.
^^^^ but at least I can admit that.

I saw the post and was going to say Target, so I guess I'm out. I buy all my pants at Express, too (they just fit so dang good), then find cheaper tops.
Haven't shopped much lately, but usually find my tops at Target and NY&Co. Honestly, the last 2 years, I've just used BDay and Christmas to ask for clothes at Loft and White House/Black Market. But they aren't cheap (hence waiting for holiday).
So I'm of no help. And I can't shop at Kohl's either. They don't believe in boobs or hips.
Sometimes I find good deals on shopittome. You could sign up for that. It's not always cheap, but they have some really good deals sometimes (and sometimes I glance through and say... really? that's what you consider a deal?)

Nobs, I agree. I hate Kohls.
I usually go to Ross, TJMaxx, or Marshalls. I stalked Target sales racks- I can't justify buying clothes for full price. I have gotten some work pants in the junior's department for like 15 bucks.
There is this store that is open around here: Platos Closet. They sell super gently worn clothes (You can bring in some of yours and sell to them too!)that look brand new for way cheaper. They clean and santize everything.
My Planning Bio
I usually go there or to a place that's called Renewed Expressions that's pretty much the same as Plato's closet but they focus more on professional clothing. I think it's a local company but there might be a place like that in your area?

I'm spoiled with Gap, Banana and JCrew outlets 15 minutes from me!
I also like Maurice's. Not sure if there's one in your area, but I buy a lot of work clothes there, and their prices are decent. Their online selection isn't very extensive, though.

oh! i forgot about maurices! their cardigans and shrugs always help dress-up my work outfits. they have good "going out" tops, too.

I'm totally useless in this category, unless you can do hipster nonsense to work? 'cause then I'd say H&M like woah. Or that new one... Heritage something-or-other.
But- actually knowledge to add here- there's a Plato's Closet a couple miles from me on Woody. Come shop with me!! I've never been and I think that's silly, I should go. So should you.
