We just found out that our neighbors, two houses down from us, got broken into. We're getting an alarm system hooked up ASAP!!! You need a home phone line for that, right? I mean, we have our giant dog which is a pretty good security system on his own, but I'm thinking we might need to up things a bit. Someone stole their freakin Expedition from the DRIVEWAY right in front of the house!!
Re: Home security systems?
yes you need a home phone i believe.
OMG love your new badge, too funny
You've heard what I've done, not what I've been through.

My home security system: a German Shepherd, a husband who is a cop and a sniper, and a pissed off whorebag mcgee who is a really good shot.
Really. Don't eff with us. haha
LOL I like your security system!!!

Make sure to check your local police on how they handle alarms. The alarm company commericals are bogus and it doesn't happen like they say. Alarm companies can hold a pending alarm for an undetermined amount of time (probably depending on their policy) and don't call police right away. Also, once an alarm is called in to police, they sometimes aren't dispatched right away. Unfortunately, there are A LOT of false alarms so they're not usually a high priority and if the agency is busy with verified emergency calls, alarms can be held pending until someone is available to go.
Well, if THAT doesn't make me fit the Alabama stereotype, then I don't know what will!!! haha
Our home security system is Matt and a baseball bat. I have a can of pepper spray in my purse, too, and a taser-like stun stick that cops carry.
I would be more concerned if we didn't share walls with neighbors on either side and live in a pretty quiet neighborhood. When we get a freestanding dwelling, we're definitely going to look into getting a gun. I was going to a while back and got sidetracked.
