More like s/o shaving - how often to do you shave your underarms. Honestly, and perhaps TMI, I'm a hairy beast with hair that grows faster than the average human it would seem (seriously, I could use a haircut at least once a month as short as I now keep it) but the underarms are a PITA. I can't go more than a day without shaving, especially in the summer but they're super sensitive and it just looks ick half the time and by the end of a long day I have a freakin' 5 o'clock shadow going on. I've tried deodorant without aluminum, but that does not help the irritation whatsoever. I've found that having them waxed every week and a half definitely helps...but it's not convenient and it adds up $-wise and again, in the summer time, it would require wearing shirts with decent length sleeves.
Re: s/o the 'down there' poll
It doesn't matter for me because I never, ever wear tank tops or sleeves shorter than elbow-length (I usually wear men's t-shirts). However, mine are sensitive, too - I shave every other day or sometimes two days.
Have you tried Dove? I thought those commercials were BS but I really like it and it's helped cut down on the irritation I've had from other deodorants. I usually hate gel deodorants but I really like Secret's gel one - it doesn't irritate me much, either.
I find a get a closer shave using a men's razor vs. a Venus which is what I use for my legs.
I can usually get away with every other day, but I probably should do it every single day. I generally don't wear anything sleeveless to work though, so I'm pretty safe. My skin's a bit sensitive too, but in order to not stink up the room and/or sweat through my shirts, I have to use industrial strength deodorants, so I just go with it.
On a side note, I tried Nair-ing my pits prior to a dance in HS and that was a HUGE mistake. I don't care if they say you can use it, it hurt like a MOFO for like a week afterward.
Hmm...wonder if DH would mind if I borrowed his razor...

And I believe that is what DH uses. Apparently, what he tells me is that black men have more sensitive skin and have more problems with ingrown hairs and such, all that fun stuff...so perhaps his razor would be perfect for my armpits. As long as I do not tell him.
I, too, am a hairy beast and it's really bristly, dark hair, I shave all of my "shave-able" parts daily with a men's Mach 3 razor. I find that brand doesn't give me pit or bikini line irritation.
I tried waxing my pits once at a salon and it didn't work! I grew the hair out (which was difficult!) and the wax wouldn't rip the hairs out. The technician was baffled; she tried multiple times. It must just be really deep-rooted. So I gave up and resigned to shaving daily forever. The only things I wax are my eyebrows.
I think stars get botox now in their pits, but I am not sure. I think it prevents the hair from growing.
I got them waxed for my wedding. Holy hell it hurt, but they were smooth for over a week.
I'm a morning showerer (I mean I shower after the gym at night, but need to shower in the a.m. as I only switch the sheets once a week).
You know...I was all set for botox at a botox party tonight (my forehead)...but had to decide against it after my Coach/Best Buy shopping spree a few weeks ago. I never considered it for my underarms!
Ditto this - I only use a men's razor, too.

Actually is is for perspiration, I have heard of people botoxing the palms of their hands, too.
I used to shave every time I took a shower, but lately I have gotten lazy with it and it's more like every 2 or 3 days. If I don't have to work I always shave, but sometimes if it's early and I am running late for work (which is almost every day) then I just don't care.
