what do you wear to work?
I was reading this post and was really surprised at the person who was scandalized by someone wearing peep toe heels to work. When I was doing graphic design (not a super formal setting, but definitely not a jeans and T-shirts kind of place
either since clients were always around), I wore peep toes all.the.time. My feet were always pedicured and I paired them with knee length skirts, cute tops, etc. I never wore super short skirts or low-cut shirts, so I'd never have dreamed that someone might think I looked inappropriate or unprofessional based solely on my shoes. 
Now that I work in a library, my wardrobe is a little more practical since I need to be able to tote around books, climb onto stools, crawl underneath desks, etc. - most of the time I wear pants (sometimes jeans, as long as they're nice ones), with casual-but-cute shirts and flat shoes.
What do you wear to work? Is there anything you wouldn't wear, or are you OK as long as you don't show up naked?

My basic uniform is trousers or knee-length skirt, paired with a sweater, button-up, or sleeveless top + cardigan. I avoid anything strapless, short, or low-cut. I'm always in heels, some are peep toes and the dress code allows that (although it didn't used to).
My office isn't super-formal, we definitely have some people who dress more casually than me (khakis, polo, sneakers) but I would feel uncomfortable dressing that casually. Even on "jeans Friday" I wear dark denim and the same style tops I'd wear on any other day.
My general rule is: If I'd wear it to a picnic or a bar, I shouldn't wear it to work.
My office is business casual although the beast receptionist that I have been having problems with for months thinks she can be casual, (I mean, wear Old Navy flip flips and khaki shorts with t shirts) type of casual. I work for a financial advisory firm so I pretty much dress nice all week because you never know if a client will pop in. Me personally, I feel it's very unprofessional to be going to work like a slob...especially when your managing somebody's money.
However, I wear peep toes all the time. I don't think they look unprofessional at all. I pair them up with slacks or a knee length skirt and a nice top. I don't think there is anything wrong with that

Normally my work attire is suits Mon - Thurs. I rarely wear the actual jacket (only when I am doing something like briefing someone or going to an important meeting) but I still wear nice pants and nice tops. We aren't allowed to wear anything sleeveless which sucks in the summer time when it's hot and all the cute tops are sleeveless. I wear heels or boots but we are not allowed to wear peep toe shoes. However, I would LOVE to wear them and totally think they are appropriate (as long as they aren't six inch stripper peep toe shoes).

i work at a software company, with a bunch of engineers. all the stereotypes about how badly they dress and take care of personal hygiene are, well, true
some of the guys walk around without shoes on (ew - thankfully no one in my team). there are lots of socks with sandals goin' on too, though most guys wear sneakers. the standard uniform is jeans and a t-shirt. nobody blinks an eye at sweatshirts at work - in fact, i've worn my (company logo) hoodie to work several times. jean, shorts, skirts, etc - anything goes. we had a "formal friday" once where ppl came in suits, tuxes, and gowns - but that was just for fun.
my uniform is jeans and a sweater/turtleneck/non-button-down shirt (maybe a 1/2 step up from a t-shirt), depending on the season. plus a light fleece jacket, since the office is always ^@#$@#$ freezing, no matter what time of year it is. since last winter, not wanting to wear heels anymore (and not having owned many flats until recently), i started wearing my cross trainers a lot too, and more recently, yoga pants, heh.
the sales team, on the other hand, is a whole different story - they always look cute! but still lots of jeans. my last job at my old company (also just as casual), i worked closely with designers, merchandisers, buyers, etc (and we managed the shoes business), and I made much more of an effort to look cute - at least for a while, until i realized I only had a handful of outfits that qualify, hah!
eta: on the rare occasions I need to present at a conference or meet with clients, i will wear slacks and a button-down shirt
We have two main rules at my school.... no flip-flops, and no jeans. Other than that (and the obvious no showing cleavage, etc.), anything goes. I usually wear black or grey pants that are nice, but not too dressy (always stretchy!), or a cotton skirt, with a sweater or nicer long-sleeved t-shirt. I do need to be comfortable, since I teach little ones, and I'm often on the floor with them.
For parent-teacher conference nights or a day I'm getting observed, I do dress up a bit more and often wear a dress or even a suit. When I'm conducting a concert I always wear a plain black dress.
I wear plain black ballet flats most of the time, but teachers wear peep-toes all the time! I see no problem with that in most workplaces.
i really don't own any closed toe shoes...haha. my uniforms is trousers, a cute top...usually something bright/short sleeve or sleeveless and my suit jacket. i don't really take my jacket off so no one sees my sleeveless shirts.
business attire in hawaii for women kinda blows. guys get to wear aloha shirts and khakis or slacks. women, well, you wouldn't catch me wearing a mumu. so basically, it's the same but open toes and sleevless are completely acceptable.
i actually think peep toes are sexy, especially if the women is wearing a suit. i think it brings out the feminine side, which i like

I work in software and am computer-facing (as opposed to customer-facing, ha), so my dresscode is pretty flexible. While most of the (mostly male) engineers wear "business casual", since I also work downtown I like to dress up a bit more. So normally, I'm in slacks and nice tops. I do like to throw in a quirky touch of anthropolgie-like style with interesting colors/patterns, uniqiue cuts or draping. Fridays are the only days I wear jeans. I wear heels in the office (although none are peep toed), but I commute in flats (I'd probably break an ankle if I wore heels since I'm always running for the bus).
haha i do feel like they are PJs sometimes too
when i was PG i wore scrubs all the time b/c i didn't want to buy maternity clothes or think about what to wear. now sometimes i wear scrubs and then other times i dress professionally, i.e. dress pants and a nice top from ann taylor loft or something like that.... studies have shown that people are more likely to follow a recommendation that i make if i am in dress clothes instead of scrubs so i try to dress well when i am not feeling lazy

I have no dress code. some people take that really far. I tend to err on the side of caution and common sense - khakis and tanks with a cardigan, jeans are ok. I usually wear dark denim and like the trouser style, but will wear normal ones too. If I have a meeting I will wear dress pants with a nice top or sweater and sometimes wear heels.
shoes - flip flops, birks, hiking type cross trainers, or my "dress" shoes - a pair of mary jane borns or suede flat point toe ballet slipper type shoes.
sometimes I feel bad about it but there are a few people that dress up everyday and people kind of make fun of them - I would rather fit in than have people think I dress up to make myself feel important.
Obviously if I'm in court I wear a suit - although none of mine look that great on me right now... need to loose a few more lbs.

This! Except for me, they allow us to wear t-shrts with the hospital logo on them that you can buy in the gift shop... some units (such as mine) ordered ones with the logo that's embroidered that are nicer and cheaper than the gift shop ones
I do sometimes feel frumpy but it's comfy so I guess I'll take it!
