Sooo, how did the brazilian blowout turn out???  Just read the post below and you girls had me LMAO!  I had NO idea what that was either, but now I'm intrigued.

Got pics?

Re: ***Jenirvt********

  • I do have pics!  Kept trying to PIP them Saturday morning, but it wasn't working properly :(  Then we had parties to attend and went to the lake for the rest of the weekend so I stopped dinking  around with it.  BUT here are a before and an after...

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Brazilian Blowout.  HIGHLY recommended for anyone with crazy-curly, fuzzy, thick hair like mine.  It is SO soft, so much more manageable, and it's not "puffy" anymore!  It lays really nicely and actually "swings" like "normal hair" does (even when I flat ironed it, it still looked obviously flat-ironed and was still very bulky).  The process itself took about 2 hrs, and that included an eyebrow wax b/c i had some serious caterpillars going on :)  The stylist washed my hair a couple times with a special clarifying shampoo, then all of my hair was sectioned and the Brazilian Blowout stuff applied with a brush to each strand (this took a while).  It smelled really fruity and sweet, not chemical-y, which I liked.  Once that was done, my hair was blown dry straight then sectioned off again and flat ironed.  This took a long time as they do very small sections and pass the flat iron over each section 4-5 times.  Once everything was flat ironed, the stuff was rinsed out of my hair, a conditioning masque applied, and then a quick blowdry was done.  My hair was straight, but not flat, it  still had body and movement.  Best of all it was like a 5 minute blowdry and no flat iron was needed to make it straight!  It used to take me 20 minutes to dry it fully then another 30 to section it off and flat iron it!  No products were needed, no nothing, and there was not a fuzzy strand in sight!

Since then, I have been able to easily hit it with a blowdryer for a few min after showering and it turns out straight and smooth.  I let it air dry after we got home from the lake last night and it looked great...had a slight wave to it but nothing major...still very soft and shiny and no frizz.  It gets straighter with the blowdryer, though.

The only caveat is that you have to use sulfate and sodium free shampoo (which is really hard to find) so naturally Brazilian Blowout has its own brand of shampoo and condish.  The stylist (who also has a BBO on her hair) recommended that I use them so I bought them and they are WAY expensive....about $35 PER BOTTLE....so I spent almost as much on the shampoo and conditioner as I did on the service itself....but it's supposed to extend the life of the BBO as the hair products have keratin in them as well which reinforces the treatment.  i looked online and even on Ebay it's around that price. The treatment is supposed to last 3-4 months...and the curlier and more processed/porous your hair, the better it works....so we will see!  I would/will DEFINITELY do it again, though.  In September I'm gonna go back, have my color and then that redone (you can have them done the same day, but color has to come first.  If you don't color it then, you have to wait 2 weeks after treatment to color it).  It's supposed to be a cumulative thing, so the more you do it, the better the results.

  • It looks GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!
