Hi ladies!
It's that time of the week again... i have to figure out what I'm making for dinner and such.
What's on your list this week?
Re: Grocery list
I just made mine!
We're having shake 'n bake chicken and roasted potatoes, zucchini and yellow squash for a saute, pork tenderloin marinated in bbq sauce, italian dressing marinated chicken, talapia (not sure how we'll cook it), turkey burgers, sandwich stuff for lunches, yogurt, butternut squash (mmmm yum!), milk, cereal....to name a few things.
I'm reading what to expect before you're expecting and I'm trying to eat like they suggest...and eat to lose weight since I need to lose quite a few pounds before I should get pregnant.

Tonight I am making a roast beef with root vegetables (carrots, turnip, parsnip, potatoes, and onions) in the slowcooker. It will be my first attempt at cooking a roast this way, so I'm not sure how it will turn out, but I'm excited about the attempt. It's huge, so we'll be eating leftovers for at least a day or two.
This week we are also planning on making homemade burgers with grilled veggies, baked salmon with rice (HH's specialty) and homemade pizza. That's all we've formulated thus far
I'm so glad I'm not the only one that plans like this!!! It's one of the things that makes me feel married- does that make any sense? haha
I didn't start doing it after the wedding and it's made life so much easier. My friends all think I'm ridiculous... but then again, they're also very single and don't have another person to consider and usually eat out, at their parents, or at our house, lol.

Then what does he eat??

I am also curious about this. haha
HH and I were talking about veggies and being picky eaters just last night. I made brussel sprouts for supper, which are one of my all time favourite things to eat, and we were talking about how neither one of us would have eaten these if our parents had made them. We were both really really picky eaters as kids, but now there's NOTHING I won't eat (like, seriously...I may have issues) and he'll eat virtually anything as well, especially if I make out. He still picks out mushrooms, but I'm hoping he'll eventually suck it up because I put them in pretty much every single thing I cook.
oh okay...that makes sense. I was like, vegetarian but no veggies? How does that work. Sorry! LOL

I so needed this post- I am trying to come up with dinner for the week and wasn't having much success! I may be stealing some of your ladies' ideas!
Just got back from Wal Mart (ugggghhhh, I hate that place and usually never ever go... no choice today)...
this week is Jason's long work week, so most nights I'm fending for myself, but I like to make stuff that can easily go in tupperware for him to eat when he can.
Tonight I'm just making bacon, eggs, and toast for me. Tomorrow I'm making slow cooker pulled pork sandwiches and cucumber salad.
Some other night I'm making homemade speghetti sauce... it's an old family recipe and takes all day, but it's sooooo worth it!
And yes.... planning my meals makes me feel extra married lol
I try to go shopping every Sunday, but in the summer it is so difficult! With it being 95+ degrees here, I never know what to cook! It just always feels too hot to cook.
I think I'm going to make a taco pizza one night & BLTTA (bacon, lettuce, tomato, turkey, avocado) sandwiches, but now I'm stuck

We went shopping today as well. We bought red snapper for tonight and i grilled some veggies and made some brown rice to go with it.
Tues-Meatloaf & honey glazed carrots
Wed-tacos, spanish rice & refried beans
Thurs-home made lasagna
Fri-Steaks, corn on the cob & salad
Sat-either baked breaded chicken or pizza from scratch; havent decided yet.
I dont always plan my meals out but it is easier if I do and I'm trying to get better about it. Hopefully I can keep it up!
I made this tonight with a few tweaks.

I plan all of our meals to, it makes grocery shopping ALOT easier in my opinion.
Last night we had chicken fajitas. The rest of the week we're having fried pork chops, corn on the cob, and hashbrown casserole; frozen pizza (something quick on wednesday since we have church); grilled chicken, potatoes, green beans, mac n cheese; tacos.
ash- I LOVE pizza pasta! We use pepperoni, sausage, and pack it with typical pizza veggies too. MMMmmmm
For us this week:
Last night: baked bbq ckn with brown rice and corn on the cob
Tonight: cheesy eggs with ckn apple sausage
Rest of the week: homemade spaghetti sauce for spaghetti, sliders with sweet potato fries, and beef, ckn, and veggie kabobs with potato salad
And, I'm using my ice cream maker for the first time!

I usually do a "pizza pasta bake" which is a little different from a pasta pizza, but here's the link to the bake that I started with:

Ours typically has:
turkey pepperoni (less greasy than regular), bell peppers, onions, sausage, cheese, pizza sauce, and I usually use the spiral/twisty noodles.
