Great Vacation Spot?

We have decided to go on a little family trip this winter. DH and I are not travellers by any means. Our only trip in our ten years together was our honeymoon to San Francisco. We'd like to go somewhere warm, not expensive, child friendly (we are bringing DS who will be 1 1/2 at the time). We are not interested in doing an all-inclusive resort. Any suggestions? We were thinking Florida, rent a villa by the beach and relaxing but any other ideas are welcome! Thanks :)

Re: Great Vacation Spot?

  • I'd avoid the Gulf of Mexico, obviously.

I think Florida is your best option, but if you really want warm you'll have to go quite South. Dh's parents go in Feb.- March, and it is always quite cool (between 10-15 C) until mid March.

  • The florida keys are magnificant. Lots of culture, lots to do and very beautiful.

  • I would rent a house on the beach in Turks and Caicos. It is actually really affordable.
