BC and different time zones?
Hey all, sorry about asking another BC question.... just really need some advice.
I just started on the pill last week and I'll be traveling to Mexico for my honeymoon (from Cali). I'm assuming I have to adjust what time I take it because 8pm here is not 8pm there. Do I just make sure that I take it exactly every 24hrs? And was this difficult for anyone else to figure out when faced with a time change?
Thanks in advance for the advice!
Re: BC and different time zones?
Just take it at the same time you do normally (ie before bedtime, in the morning, whatever) so your body stays on its' normal track. I moved to Japan right after our honeymoon and recently moved back to the East Coast. Even with the 14 hour time difference I've never had any issues
Have fun!
yep, you need to take it every 24 hours. I live in eastern time zone and went to hawaii, so here I take my BC at 9pm, there I had to take it at 3pm.
Also, just taking it "before you go to bed" or "in the morning" isn't going to provide reliable birth control. You really need to be taking it at the same time every day. I know I don't go to bed or get up at the same time every day...
i would be prepared tho...when i was on the pill i chose 10pm to take it...i had to grab a quick snack and hit the pillow pronto if i wanted to make it through the morning without getting sick(hormones give my false morning sickness :P)...so when i traveled i had to take motion sickness pills and tums to fight that. that is the only thing i would consider...but no mater what you and your new hubby will be much better off and more relaxed if you stick to the 24hour routine.
have a wonderful time!
im celebrating my one year anniversary today...it went quick.
