How Was Everyone's Holiday?

Hopefully most of us are out of work today!  If not (and even if we are :) how was everyone's holiday weekend?

We had a nice time visiting my parents and trying to BBQ with them (it was raining all day down here!).  I have to say though, it was nice to not have to work this morning!

  • We spent the day at home, playing video games and being lazy. We don't even live close enough to town to have heard let alone seen the fireworks or anything, so it was a nice quiet day for us.

  • I slept in obscenely late because I over did it the day before after being sick.  So I got up around 3 and we went to an early dinner at a local pizza place, ran some errands, came home and chilled for a bit, then went to see some fireworks.

We took the subway/metromover.  It was beyond packed and I'm glad they had police officers everywhere blocking people off and letting them through by numbers, otherwise those platforms would have been wayyyy to crowded.  And it was so sweaty, people shoving into you.  I came home and took a much needed shower.

  • i found our spare bedroom had an infestation of some sort of flying bugs, so DH thought it necessary to pull everything out of there (which was all my stuff-clothes i dont wear and boxes of stuff i tote from place to place) and clean it before putting it back. it turned in to an 8+ hr project that resulted in me decluttering and forming 4 trash bags of stuff to donate to goodwill. the old furniture was then dragged in to our bedroom (i am over my desire to have matching bedroom furniture...the priority is now to simply have enough drawers to put all of our clothes), where i then rearranged the clothes.

we live 1 block from the street that everyone runs to see fireworks on (we live on the mtn that overlooks the city, so it's the best spot to view the fireworks from when they are shot out of the river)...but i was so knee deep in the project that i watched the fireworks on tv...HA! i could hear them going off outside the house, but see them on the tv. it was just easier that way!

needless to say, it wasnt much of a holiday!

  • It was a really good holiday weekend!  Started off by seeing Eclipse..Yay such a great movie! We saw great fireworks. We had a fun time at a family party then went over to a friend's  house where we lit of some fireworks. Layed out and swam in the pool. Now its back to doing school work, last day of my summer semester is Wednesday. I cannot wait I need a break from school before my last academic semster starts in the fall.   Hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend!
