Recommend your cameras

I want a camera that will take good pictures. I can't spend a ton, but want to get the best for my money.

Re: Recommend your cameras

  • Well, before it was stolen this morning, we had the Samsung TL220.  It was the one with the screen on the front too so you can take better pictures of yourself.  I loved it.

  • My camera is a few years old but I love it still. It's a Canon A710is. I did a lot of research before buying it and I have been pleased with it in just about every aspect. It takes great clear photos, decent portraits and it's good for macro. I take mostly landscapes and it's works perfectly for that. The only thing that irks me about it is if the flash fires it takes a fair amount of time before it's ready to shoot again. Also right now you can get point and shoots with way higher megapixels then mine has but that's not upsetting me to much at the moment. At the time I bought it I paid about 350 for it.

We also just recently purchased an Olympus x-560 10MP waterproof camera for our honeymoon. We bought it mostly because it was on sale for $99.00 and also because since we'll be in the ocean we wanted something we could be rough with, swim with and possibly drop without any dire consenquences. We took some photos at our local pool as a test and they turned out quite well. I haven't developed any of them yet but they look good on the computer. I can't say I'd use it all the time but so far it's good for what we bought it for.

  • I've always had Olympus Stylus cameras and loved them.  They're water resistant to like 10 feet but it is nice to know if you're taking pictures in the rain, it won't affect it.

  • If you're looking for a good point and shoot type camera, I HIGHLY recommend Sony Cybershot w/ the Carl Zeiss lenses.  Mine has held up through a lot of crap and abuse and it takes great pictures.  I got it at Best Buy about 3 & 1/2 years ago and it was about $170 back then.  GL!

  • I have a Fuji F470 and absolutely love it.  It takes amazing pictures.

I actually set up a shop on Etsy - all of the pictures there are taken with my Fuji.  And it's small enough to fit in a pocket or purse.
