Indy Question
We are going to be in Indy for a few days and are staying downtown. We will be going to the zoo one day. My husband printed off directions on mapquest and saw that it was only a mile or so from our hotel, so he thinks we should walk. However I don't think he took into account whether it is a good walking area around there (i.e. sidewalks, crosswalks, etc.).
What is the area around the zoo like. Would you walk.

Bring bathingsuits to the zoo. There is a waterpark area that is part of the zoo for kids...at no additional cost. I have a few pictures from the zoo on my blog (http://adreatravis2008.blogspot.com/p/pictures.html)
Also, as part of the zoo is a garden. They have a butterfly house which i thought was cool. The garden was beautiful, but I'm not sure how much young kids would like it. Again, it's part of the entrance fee.

We are doing the children's musuem on Thursday and the zoo on Friday. These kids are going to be so spoiled.
