How was everyone's weekend?

Mine was great! Friday girls night turned into boys too, which was fine. We went to the gallery show for a short time to make a presence, then had dinner. DH joined us and we went to the bar, where other friends joined too. Out too late, but super fun!

Sat I spent too much time making snacks (stuffed mushrooms are good but a major PITA) and DH and I went to Devil's Lake. Fun time, good food, relaxing. Came home the next day only to turn around and go out on a friend's boat for the downtown fireworks. So cool to hear the fireworks echo off the buildings when you're on the water.

Yesterday I did a few errands and cleaned while DH visited family in Sandusky (I skipped out on that :) Boating again later and back home too late. I need more sleep!

Re: How was everyone's weekend?

  • Friday I hung out with friends and we had margis and pina coladas while playing cards and watching old-school rap concerts on dvd. :)

Saturday we did attempted to go garage saling but didn't find anything worthwhile.  Then we dropped $360 for a new exhaust on DH's car (UGH) and took care of some stuff around the house.  That evening we went to a friend's house where we played cornhole/ladderball/flip-cup.

Sunday we did yardwork (which was a terrible idea since it was SO HOT), got a bowflex (off of craigslist) and then went to a friend's 30th birthday party at the French Quarter.

Yesterday we ran some errands and did lots of sitting around in the AC.  Watched Angels & Demons (which we really liked) and made a yummy dinner.

    (Wow that got long, sorry!)

  • Saturday I worked all day...by the time I got home, DH had already taken off to work the Sylvania fireworks.

Sunday, I didn't do much of anything besides watch a few episodes of the Sopranos, a baseball game and shopping at the Anderson's market.  We watched zero fireworks (didn't want to make DH deal with the crowd for a second night and I know he's not too fond of them after being in a few warzones).

Monday, made it to the halfway point of season two of the Sopranos, then we went to see Grown Ups late afternoon.  I actually was very tempted to go spend at least part of the day in Monroe working.

That pretty much sums up my weekend.

  • Friday, DH and I had a date night and went out to dinner and came home and sat on the front porch and listened to music - it was a beautiful night!

Saturday, we didn't do much during the day...  at night, we went out to dinner and to the Hens game with FIL (dang 11-game losing streak!!!) and then out with friends after.

Sunday, we got up early and went over to the Harvard Circle street fair in south Toledo and took Piper.  We watched all of the little kids have their bike races and talked with a few of the political peeps.  :)  Then, we went home and watched the Nathan's Famous hot dog eating contest - we watch every year, lol.  Then, we drove all over the city trying to find a place that had hot dogs and nothing was open!!  We ended up going to Kroger and just getting some chicken... DH and I sat around the rest of the day and then started doing a puzzle - we spent about eight hours working on it that day/night and ordered pizza for dinner.  Stick out tongue  We usually love the 4th but we were ultra lazy this year, for some reason.

Yesterday, I had the day off and we sat around the house and did more puzzle and washed our cars (first time I've washed my car in at least 3 years...) and then went out with friends to Chowder's, since Loma's was closed because of the fire.  Went back to their house after and watched the Bachelorette/breakup special.

    Man, that was long!!

  • Very busy!

Friday, N8 and I went to lunch with a friend, then walked around Fallen Timbers.

Saturday, DH worked on the weeds in the am while I stayed inside with N8 and cleaned the house a little.  In the evening, we went to Dream's house for a BBQ.

Sunday, we spent the day at my brother's cookout.

Monday, N8 visited the IL's, then we all had dinner at their house.  DH and I watched Paranormal Activity in the afternoon.  I thought it was pretty creepy!!

  • Saturday we out to the IL's. It was ok, Jake kept trying to play in the dirt because half the IL's yard is dirt cause they are working on the outside of the house. I spent most of my time chasing him around and trying to keep his hands out of the food (he did stick his hands in the veggie tray once and mix the veggies up, but they should not have put food 1 foot off the ground on a fire pit when they could have put it 4-5 feet off the ground on the high top serving area which was empty right next to it). Other people wanted to play with him so at least I got to sit down for awhile, but I kept getting him back covered in dirt or screaming.

Sunday and Monday we sat around and did nothing.

  • Friday night was nice, just relaxing at home with Matt.  Don't get too many opportunities to do that anymore!

Saturday I got some cleaning done in the morning, then when we got back to Cleveland we spent some time with M's parents and then had dinner, took their dog on a 3 mile walk, walked and got ice cream, and slept at my mom's house.

Sunday M went golfing with his dad and I made a grocery run, then came home and made red, white & blue cheesecake for the party we had that night.  Mom and I did 30 Day Shred, people arrived for my birthday stuff, we were in the pool for most of the time, we did dinner, gifts and cake, then we left for the party.  Got to our friends' house and carpooled to Stow for the party.  Lots of fun with friends, with drinks, food, cornhole, games, and setting off our own fireworks.  Next door was basically a huge block party on their big deck so we spent some time over there too.

Yesterday we went for a bike ride and spent time with our families.  A very good friend was in town from Tucson, so we met up with her for ice cream.  She just found out she's pregnant and her husband just deployed, so that plus having not seen each other in a couple of years made the reunion extra awesome.  Then we had dinner at Matt's parents' house and drove back here. :)
