DH Brag

Anyone got a DH brag?

This may seem like the lamest thing in the world to brag about, but I was excited.  Yesterday, my husband did laundry.  I started using a lingerie bag for my nylons because my nylons have a very short lifespan... and it's getting expensive.  Stick out tongue  Without me even mentioning it to him, my husband automatically used the lingerie bag with my nylons.  I was astounded, and promised him that I would brag to "the hens" about him.  (He jokingly refers to all women on thenest.com to be "hens" - not meant to be demeaning.)

So who has a DH brag to share?

Re: DH Brag

  • My H did the dishes all by himself.  Without me having to ask him.  I was so shocked!  Our house guests recently moved the eff out so I told him w/ it just being the two of us, we should do the dishes as we use them.  Then we don't have them piling up on the counter and don't have to spend a 1/2 hour washing them.  Such a small victory but a huge smile resides on my face b/c of it.

  • DH woke up extra early on Saturday to fix the leaky bathtub faucet, so that when I woke up it was fixed and all cleaned up!
  • It was hot as crap in my office, so DH crawled underneath the house in the crawl space (entrance is in our bedroom closet) all the way over to the other side of the house to fix the AC vent.  It's not hot anymore... Big Smile

Eeek.  crawl spaces = spider land.   Mad props to your DH for that one.

He's always saying how I should go down there, and how it's "pretty cool."  OKAY weirdo....

  • My husband has been working morning, noon and night at our house, and working at his job since the moment we closed a week and a half ago. When I spoke to him at lunch today he said he was working on a surprise for me - I can't wait to see what it is! We're hoping to move into the house at the end of the month, and it looks that we're gonna be on track to do so. Yay!

  • I've got nothing to contribute - my DH annoyed the heck out of me this weekend! Love the man dearly but good gracious he knows how to push my buttons some days! But I am totally loving that you've got some wonderful "awwww" things happening from your end.
  • Called H on the way home from work and asked what he wanted me to get for dinner from the store. He said don't worry about it, just come home and we'll figure something out (I was annoyed by this because we live in the boondocks and it takes forever to go home then drive all the way back to the store).  When I got home he was grilling kabobs, had the table set and told me to just sit and eat my salad while he finished up dinner :)  What a great surprise!

  • I can brag, but it's a daily occurrence... I'm a lucky lady! :)

My DH cooks every meal for us.  Unless we're eating out or just having cereal or something dumb because we're not very hungry, he cooks a real meal every night.  And it's delicious!  Tonight we had bowtie pasta with asparagus, sausage, onion, topped with cheese and a fried egg.  I know the egg sounds weird, but it's delish!  A couple days ago, he slow cooked ribs for like 5 hours and made his own dry rub on them.  Yum!

I do the dishes after each meal and we both think we got the better end of the deal!  Like I said, I'm a lucky lady!

  • I called DH with some good news, and I guess he was playing his game, and was distracted. He actually called me back to apologize, and give me an overwhelming "Yay"!!!

I was shopping with MIL today for some work clothes and we had lunch in the cafe in Nordstroms. I couldn't even afford to breathe near some of those clothes! So, at dinner tonight, I was describing my insecurity about wearing jeans and a t-shirt and having my hair in a ponytail and then literally feeling those trophy wives judging me with their expertly coordinated outfits and prefect kids getting whatever they want, etc. etc.... and DH stopped me and said, "I'm sorry, but you do realize that no matter how made up and pampered those ladies are, they'll never be as beautiful as you, right?" What a sweetie! And he says stuff like this ALL THE TIME! I got me a good one! Big Smile

  • I'm a little late to the party on this one, but I wanted to brag about MH washing our sheets on Monday.  I've wanted to change our sheets over the weekend, but never got around to it.  I went to a movie Monday afternoon and when I got home our old sheets were in the dryer and the new sheets were ready for me to put on the bed.  I wasn't too excited to have to do anything when I got home, but that night when we got into a bed of fresh sheets I was so very grateful.  Thanks hubby!
