Need help for anniversary!

My husband and I will be celebrating our first anniversary in a couple of weeks. We are from columbus but will be in Cincinnati for the weekend for a softball tournament. I am looking for recommendations as to what we can do Sat. evening July 17. We are up for anything, but are not familiar with the area at all.  As far as restaurants, we will pretty much eat anything ( I dont like seafood, but as long as there is steak I will be ok) and would prefer not to spend over 100 dollars just on the meal. Let me know what you think!!

TIA

Re: Need help for anniversary!

  • Bella Luna for dinner, hands down!  Happy Anniversary.
  • If you get into the arts, go and see the Shepherd Fairey exhibit at the Contemporary Arts Center and then have dinner at Lavomatic downtown.  They have an amazing rooftop terrace (be sure to request it when you make reservations).  After you can walk around the shops, once is even connected to Lavomatic).  The food is fantastic and the area, Over-The-Rhine is very cool, lots to see.

You could also go to Mt. Adams and eat at Teak Thai.  They have an outdoor terrace that is very romantic.  They have great sushi and thai food. After, walk down to The Wine Bar- live music and cool little shop- for a glass of wine.

those would be my top choices.  Happy Anniverary!

  • Not that you'd want to go see more ball - but I say Reds game - they're playing Columbus in Cincinnati for a 7:10 game. Spend a little bit more on your hotel - and order in room service for breakfast - but keep the evening less expensive with some brews and hot dogs at the game. Get some hats & t-shirts to meet the 'cotton' anniversary (isn't that first anniversary?).

  • We went to Newport aquarium for our anniversary! We had so much fun :) You could eat at a restaurant there. It's kinda like an easton.... with a lot of restaurants a movie theater and the aquarium is there too. It's actually on the Kentucky side of the river
  • We just celebrated our anniversary at the Radisson revolving hotel restaurant in Covington, KY.  You get great views of the city, and some of Kentucky that aren't as great, but it's still a great place.  The food was good, too!  Our bill was around 60 or 70 and we each had great steaks and a crabcake appetizer.  We didn't have wine or dessert, though.  Oh, and you don't have to stay the the hotel to eat there.  Here's the website if you're interested!

    Good luck!

Also, Devou Park is in Covington, too, and it's probably the best views of the city.  There will most likely be a reception at Drees Pavilion so there may be people around, but it's still a beautiful place...day or night!
(Google Devou Park, KY pictures if you want to see that, too!)
