My aunt called my Mom yesterday, she was attacked by the neighbors dog early yesterday am. She was letting her own dogs out and one of the 5, yes FIVE neighbors dogs pushed through the chainlink fence and attacked her. It bit her on the hand and the leg. She said she was screaming, and the owner of the dog hopped the fence and got the dog off of her, he didnt say anything, no apology, are you ok, nada.
They called 911, she's ok thank god! She pressed charges against the owner, and he made a snide comment, "oh a $40 ticket, I can pay that now." What an ass!!! Later in the day, my aunt found the dog had gotten through the fence again and was laying on her back porch.
Since it was a holiday yesterday, the spca couldnt come out to check the dog but they will be there today supposedly to hopefully quarantine the dog to check its behavior and for rabies.
This owner and his wife are complete trash. His wife is a drunk, and they let these dogs run in and out of their house (leaving the doors/windows open all day and night). They have massive flies, and these dogs are absolutely crazy! My brother was over there a few weeks ago doing yard work and he was terrified they would jump over the fence and attack him, they would go nuts!!!
Sorry that was so long, I just really hope something is done with these dogs, and the owners take responsibility. Im terrified something worse might happen ![]()
Re: T&P, advice to pass on?
That's so obnoxious...especially since it's people like that who make life more difficult for responsible dog owners!
Unfortunately, I don't think there's much more your aunt can do than call the authorities and press charges. If this is the dog's "first offense," the owner probably will just get a fine and a warning. Granted, this depends on how strict the laws are in her city.
Now that I think about it, though...the fact that the dog went through the fence and onto her property a second time is probably a "second offense" that she should report. So she should definitely make sure she lets the authorities know about that, too.

I let her know it would probably be a good idea to video record their behavior, and take photos for when they get on her property again. Im so scared and nervous for her that someone might get hurt again! And my aunt has 2 little dogs
I hate to think what could happen to them.
The cop that came yesterday did tell my aunt if one of his dogs had done this, he would definitely put it down, bc its a higher risk of a second attack and you cant replace a human life. Also, the cop noticed one of the dogs standing in a window looking out and told the other cop to shoot it if it were to lunge/jump. That right there tells me the cop knows they are vicious!
do you know what kind of dogs they are?
i agree you aunt needs to video tape and take as many pictures of the dogs and what they are doing and when they are in her yard as she can. i agree most of the times when a dog attacks a human he will more than likely try to attack again. that is why most dogs that attack or put down.
and i agree with carrie this man and people like him make it harder and harder for us responsible dog owners.
I hope the spca does something about it! I told my Mom to tell my aunt she should turn them in to the board of health as well...
Exactly. So terrible.
It's disgusting that people like this are allowed to have pets. These dogs dont have a chance to be normal.
