confused and dont know what to think
So about a month ago I quit the pill and my husband and I are TTC. I've been on the pill for about 7 years now and not use to trying to figure out when my periods are suppose to start bc it always started at the same time each month every month. So I counted 28 days from my first period and and yesterday was that 28. I am thinking that I am now a day late. I know it is only a day but I have been feeling nausea off and on for the past 2 weeks and have not got my normal symptoms before my period. Usually I cramp pretty bad but so far have felt nothing but sickness. I took a test Friday right after and it came out negative but the internet says that happens a good amount when you test before your missed period. I was thinking that maybe my urine was really watered down too bc I drink a lot of water at work and held it in for a long time. In conclusion of all this I am thinking that maybe i did get a false negative and am pregnant but can not take another test for a couple days, being on vacation with family and all. Anybody have symptoms or stories like these? I am seeking advise...

When you can take a test first thing in the morning. The hormone is more present in your first pee of the day.If you get a negative again and do not get your period in a week or so go to the doctor and have them do a blood test and if that's negative maybe they can help you figure out your periods.Sometimes after going off of BC it can take a while to get your periods regulated again.

Everyone's cycle is different, and contrary to popular belief 28 days is not the magic number. Especially with just getting off BC you may experience longer cycles until your body gets used to being off the pill. I highly suggest lurking on the Getting Pregnant board. You will learn a lot! Good luck!
The hormonal changes that come with going off of BC can create some additional or different symptoms than what you're used to - including nausea. I had to go off BC for about 6 months not too long ago - and it easily took 30-4 months before my body got into any resemblance of a routine.
I've also heard that you should not TTC for at least 2-3 months after going off BC to give your body time to clear the chemicals in BC and bring your hormone balance back to a more normal state.
Maybe you should go in for a consult with your Dr to talk about TTC and the things you need to do to set your body & your baby up for success - such as starting prenatal vitamins.
I would wait a few days and then test again, knowing that it's likely that your body is just trying to regulate itself. On the other hand, yes, you could be pregnant.
I went off bc in April and just had my first period a few days ago. It took a while for it to show up. That first month, I had all kinds of phantom pregnancy symptoms, but low and behold, just took a while to show up.
Good luck!
